Dodge Roll ??

The controls screen mentions that there is a Dodge assigned to the B button and I remember seeing a dodge roll in the trailers, so I expected to unlock that at some point in the game, yet I realized now that I haven't unlocked it after beating the game. I'm having a lot of trouble not getting hit by Sandy for the boss achievement and I'm wondering if this is why. Did I miss it somehow ??

It's one of the first abilities you unlock. You have to move left or right AND press B

Trust me, it'd be pretty difficult to never press B while moving left or right during the entire game.

it's not missable, you get it at the very beginning of the game

Well I most certainly don't have the move. It isn't a controller issue either as testing with keyboard, I can't dodge either, despite the ground pound working perfectly fine on B/Ctrl.

Started a new save file to see, and yep I never received the Dodge on my first play through. I'm not sure how but it is missable, very cool.

EDIT: Did some thorough testing, turns out if you talk to an NPC at the same time you kill the last enemy of the encounter that gives you the move, the tutorial will not play and you will not receive the move.

Disappointing. The code should not be tested by the customer (as you did). For 40$ i expect good quality assurance

Its a simple oversight, I completely understand and don't blame them at all. Of course there's gonna be bugs that slip through the cracks, you can only do so much with at most tens of people, when you're shipping to potentially millions. Plus I've done actual hired QA Testing for other games so its kinda my thing.
