I downloaded the Intel Extreme Tuning utility that was noted in the last major patch notes as a possible fix. The link is here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/17881/intel-extreme-tuning-utility-intel-xtu.html
Initially I only tried backing down my Performance Core ratio from 55x to 54x, as stated in the patch notes as a possible fix. That did nothing for me. So then I tried 53x, still nothing. I am not on 52x and I have not had a crash since.
i did try that, though it didn't work for me at least.
my game could start after i deleted the dll. file coming from the "allow assets mod" mod from nexus mods (located in game files :\steamapps\common\Remnant2\Remnant2\Binaries\Win64) named "xinput1_3.dll" (could be located differently for others). apparently this file interfered with the booting after the update. after updating to the new version of the dll. the game could start again with mods. that said, the file only exist if you are modding the game. hope this helps :)
What's weird is that I'd used the XTU with an earlier Rem2 patch and it did nothing at all, so I guess one of the game updates somehow made that workaround function for me.
Gonna have to agree that toning down a top of the line processor to get a game that looks like this to run is hilarious and sad but I am just glad to have some stability. Hopefully further patches do not break the game
Deleting the DLL worked for me! Thanks!
Thank you very much. Really appreciate for the solution!
