Can't join friends anymore

So today I hopped on and was gonna join my friend's game as I always do but for some reason now I just cant anymore,

the yellow icon next to their name doesnt appear anymore, joining through steam or invites doesnt work either, it just does nothing, tried rebooting the game, my pc, verifying files integrity, rebooting Steam,

NOTHING works, when I try to invite them to my game, them accepting does nothing, even though a couple days ago they could join me and I could join them just find, we're all on friends only and are friends on Steam

Myself and many others have had this issue for a while. There is no fix and the devs have not commented on it. I've resigned myself to solo play at this point.
