Stuck on main menu/character select and other issues

I boot it up, I get to character select. I had an issue like this before but cant recall how to fix it. But I cant select anything. My mouse doesn't show up half the time. No button prompts work. When I alt f4 to leave the game I can still hear it and its all still running but not showing up. I have to manually go in and stop it from the control panel. Anyone else having this issue?

I decided to play the game again. Downloaded the game and launched. Had a black screen for what felt like was going to be indefinitely until after 4 minutes I pressed Esc a handful of times.

Entered the character creation menu. Confirmed my appearance and was met with another black screen. Spammed Esc again and was able to progress to archetype selection, but I couldn't click anything. Pressed Esc a few more times. I repeated this process until I could play the game.

Yeah what I found worked was legit just restarting the PC. Its annoying having to do it every once and awhile just to play but is what it is I suppose.
