Missing Resolutions (Monitor Resolutions Not Available)

I've noticed that when trying to get some performance increases that some of my resolution options that my monitor supports aren't available in the options menu.

I have a C49RG90, which is a 49 inch SuperUltrawide Display with a maximum resolution of 5120x1440. When games give me performance issues at this resolution I usually pop the game resolution to 2560x1440p, that way I still get a nice crisp picture with good visuals and usually solid performance.

When I go to select 2560x1440p in the options menu, only 2560x720p is available. Then when I scrolled through the rest of the resolution options, more resolutions that my monitor supports are missing.

This is the only game where I've seen resolutions missing like this. Is this to push the use of upscaling which produces very mixed results?

It's locked to offer only resolutions matching your native aspect ratio. It's the same for me - only 16:9 resolutions are offered.

Have you tried editing the .ini file? Or setting your desktop resolution to the one you want to use in the game?

Yeah, I've tried editing the .ini but alas that doesn't do anything.

I guess setting my desktop resolution to 2560x1440 on windows and then launching the game seems to work. That's dumb that it's locked to your aspect ratio.

So i'm in a similar situation. My monitor is 3840x1080. I wanted 2560x1080 for better performance.

I made my windows desktop 2560x1080, launched remnant 2 and set the now available resolution in windowed mode. Closed the game and changed my desktop back to the 3840x1080 native, the game now launches 2560x1080 windowed mode.

I'm not sure if this trick works in other modes too, but windowed was enough for me.
