Game Stuttering Heavily - Edit: Fix Found
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
RAM: 32 GB, 3200 MT/s, DDR4, 2x16, DIMM,
Storage: 1 TB SSD
Monitor: 1920X1080, 144HZ

Heavy consistent stuttering like every half a second or so both on 30-50 FPS on potato settings without FSR3 and frame generation and on 70-140 with it on.

Settings are all potato ultra performance and everything alike, capping FPS does nothing and neither does v-sync.

Also, switching between potato, medium and ultra does not alter the stutters at all, in fact, the game performs equally badly on all settings which is very weird and impressive.

EDIT: Fix Found

By scouring the internet for an obscure Reddit thread I was able to eliminate the stuttering except a single short duration and low amplitude stutter every 10 or so minutes when major things happen such as a bunch of enemies spawning and the world loading behind doors. I achieved this by disabling the Smart Access Memory Setting in the AMD Adrenaline software settings as suggested by said Reddit thread. I can now run the game on all ultra settings and without upscaling at above 70 FPS with frame gen on, 95-120 with FSR quality on, and likely just a bit less with frame gen off. I got the game from a friend via a third party cheaper Steam code site, but even if I payed for the game on the Steam store, just trying to get the game to run took 2.7 hours, which is more than allowed for a refund. This is a disgrace and the game still is a horridly unoptimized mess. The FSR produces noticeable artifacting degrading graphics quality and the frame gen produces artificial input lag. It is a disgrace to gaming.

What an intellectual response.

So you have a bad GPU and a bad CPU and then wonder why the game doesnt run well if you dont use upscaling methods which the game was specifically made for?

Ok cool.

Intellectual, In the thread's description it says that both with and without them the issue is the same. It is incredible, your lack of reading ability. It is a fact this game is horridly unoptimized. It barely looks better than the first, the only difference is I can run the first one maxed out at 200 fps and I can't run the second one.

asstilt, I agree, you should pay 3 morbillion dollar for rtx 4090 because game is too optimized
the better you consoom, the less you stutter

Add -DX11 or -FORCE-D3D11 in Steam game launch parameters and try to play.
Game work with DX12 and can't run with DX11, but it seems this parameter force game to use compatible shaders from DX11 and to disable nanytes. It can help in your case, and if not - just delete this param from options. Nothing to loose.

Unfortunately that doesn't fix it, but thank you for actually trying to offer a potential fix.

Try this then: -HIGH -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -THREADS 4 -DX12 -NOJOY
Whole line copy/paste and insert in Remnant 2 Steam launch parameters.
This parameters helped me, but i have NVidia RTX3090TI and Intel CPU...
But still worth the try and nothing too loose, cause you can delete it if not working, zero consequences. Also try to reset to default game graphics settings and then set own settings again. It helped some people, who got degraded performance after patch.

Nope, thanks for trying. Just uninstalled it, worthless piece of s*it.

Yes, game is in a horrible shape right now. Third DLC release has killed the game performance, and i don't know if devs gonna do something with that, cause it seems what game support is over.

It isn't the DLC, I tried the game two times before, once shortly after release and once like half a year later. It's just the decline of gaming.

These threads usually boil down to people who can't see the difference between 15 fps and 60 fps yelling at everyone else that it seems fine to them and everyone else is wrong.

You're not missing anything, the game was underwhelming. Hope you got your refund.
