Amore Armore
Something about armor I am not getting.
How can play styles work around armor? Like yes I know the basics with trade off, light armor is better to move around in, medium strikes sort of a balance, and heavy is more on defense then agility. There is also ultra heavy armor like the leto 2.

But why wear light armor? There has to be more to it then just increased in speed and rolling around faster.
And lets be honest, wearing heavy armor and face planting into the floor....I mean dodging is funny as hell.

My play style tends to be summoner and engineer with the two summoner rings, the one that gives bulwark and the one with life steal, plus the one ring that gives haste when you are healed, which some how makes my minions hit harder, and then I swap between medium or light armor and swing around a melee weapon that does a lot of base damage.

I've spent my entire time playing in Light armor while solo, and Medium while in a group because I love how the default Medic armor looks. The main benefit is pretty much speed and getting more out of your stamina. Most of this is just me being bad at finding a good position and frequently getting caught in situations where I need to spam dodge rolls for my life, especially against enemies that do flurry attacks.

well to start... for heavy armor there is no armor in the game that forces you to face plant into the floor, you have like 5 diffrent ways to make the heaviest armor in the game, being the Leto1, onto a heavy role and you can even get it down to light role.

light role means higher distance which means less roling to get away from an enemy or out of an AoE attack, makes it generally less difficult to avoid dmg and fight enemies that spam AoE. there is also usually the factor that light role in most souls like games has more I-frames then heavy role meaning you have more frames in the role where you cant take dmg.

there is also the factor of less stamina use and all that, however heavy armor isnt bad cause of it because if you get two shot and dead, all your speed is pointless anyways

everything has its use, depending on what you prefer

I have a lot of stuff that allows for better rolling, Even an one that makes so I wont take damage when I do perfect ones. I am leveling the the invader and I have a lot of crit stuff.
But I tend to move forward with mintions....cause its easier. Like Hunter or warlock on world of warcraft. Then I find tanking to be something I enjoy.
So wearing heavy armor and just face tanking is more what I like, but I keep getting smacked down

Light armor main merit is its mobility, a lot of attacks or even attack-chains can be completely negated by quickly getting out of the way.

Plus the game is about using the variety of builds, so you have the full spectrum available from facetanking apoc bosses to rolling around like a naked-***-sonic on steroids.

Your choice of armor is largely inconsequential. it mostly determines how fast your roll is. As long as it gives you your preferred roll you can wear whatever you want.

Once you unlock the fitness and untouchable traits the iframes your dodge gives noticeably increase making the lighter dodges more attractive.

On my journey though apocalypse at level 20 I found stacking armor to be unreliable at keeping me safe. Even weak enemies did enough damage with a single attack to almost kill me. I found it easier to stay alive by combining the normal dodge with HP stacking and multiple shields.

Ok, how about showing light armor build that is good?

you must be kidding, you could simply put all the dmg ups in there as you want, have it on light load and it would be an extremely good light build.

just that most people are not skilled enugh to play that one

you gotta stack up to 80% resistance or not bother with it at all on apoc

Well here is the one I use right now:

It is not noob-friendly though, so only goes as good as the user, but it is a lot of fun.

anything involving puppers is best build. It seems I have a lot of work ahead of me no idea what most of those things are

It's a burden-build with "Gift of Unbound" (amulet you get in DLC), the amulet removes negative effects of burden rings but puts your hp at -20% per ring, so the build only has 20% of its max health and dies from a blow of a wind on nightmare/apoc.

However, when you use invader backup-skill you can spam the shield (that is still counter from the full max-hp and makes char pretty difficult to get down during the skill duration).

Also restoring the backup does not remove buffs, so using shield just before skill runs out is free and covers for most of the cooldown time. Plus the puppy gives extra safety because it can resurrect if occasional whoopsi happens.

As a bonus build can use Anguish with supercharger and do not pay any attention that it eats up the health.

time for the question, where do you get that stuff?
Vexillarius Dec 14, 2023 @ 3:21pm
What it comes down to is do you want the fight to go for 90 seconds but you need to dodge almost every hit or do you want the fight to go for 8 and a half mins but you dont need to learn dodge patterns. To actually facetank apocalypse you need a massive all in investment and to burn them down in 90 seconds you need to do the opposite. There really isn't much middle ground. At least in apoc anyway.
