Campaign is one storyline from each of the main 3 world strung together, plus the labyrinth and root worlds. This means that it will be different each time you play, as the main worlds will change (the labyrinth and root are completely fixed, though, nothing about those worlds change).
Adventure mode is just a single storyline from the main world that you choose. Which means you can go straight in and choose to play the Forgotten Kingdom. Or any other storyline. Once you're done with an adventure, you hit "reroll", and then pick the next one you want to play.
