Blood Moon Spawn?

I have two questions:

Can Blood Moon spawn before "defeating" the Yaesha World Boss?

If no, does how you defeat the Yaesha World boss matter when it comes to the Blood Moon?

Besides that, I've been getting confusing info in regards to how the blood moon spawns, in that some people say that simply loading one area to another in the current world will suffice, while others say you have to load a different world entirely, not including Ward 13....

I just wanna kill wisps man!

Blood moon spawn is rng. Reloading yaesha, non-dungeon, instances has a possibility of spawning the blood moon. I got it to trigger by loading (about 20 times) between ward 13 and the instance with the large red killable tree. Saw three wisps that flew off too quickly to kill. I was trying something with the cathedral of omens at the time so wasn't too worried about the wisps.

It can definitely load prior to world boss death, but as for whether the stone or loading a new area works I can't definitively answer. I've seen it go from regular jungle into blood moon when moving through a whole dungeon, but that could just mean the first half of the map was normal and the second had the blood moon effect the entire time. Beyond that, I believe walking in and out of the cathedral of omens DID proc a blood moon for me, but I can't be fully sure. It may have just been that I warped from Ward 13 into the cathedral, no blood moon, then stepped out and the area THERE had a blood moon, which I could then carry back into the cathedral for the secret.

Above all else, just keep trying man, you'll get it eventually. On the plus side, people can actually sell blood moon essence to your merchants, so if any of your friends have extra they can mitigate the grinding. Good luck and happy hunting.

The best way to farm bloodmoons is to go on adventure mode and re-roll untill you spawn at an area called "The Forbidden Grove"

Once spawned, venture all the way untill you get to the worldboss

There you'll have to make a choice. Either kill the red doe or kill the ravenger. If you kill the doe, yaesha will permanently have a bloodmoon which makes it easy to farm essences.

You also get the ravengers mark amulet which can be used to unlock a new relick at the spawnpoint. But be ware, the npc there will refuse to sell/buy anything again from you if he sees you wearing the amulet even once

If it can spawn before the boss, I've been trying forever!.... It really doesn't want to show itself.

Seems to cycle, like on a timer. When you get one it'll stick around for awhile, then it'll be gone for awhile... you can't force it to spawn so don't even try. Zoning can help only if it was time for it spawn already.

Good news, bad news... Finally got one after playing for hours, but no wisps. Searched the whole area and I don't see any.

Someone recommended going to the buildings to find em but they aren't around those either... am I bugged? I'm just kinda defeated right now when it comes to this...

I had to do it in the campaign mode to get anything to work. Sometimes it's bugged and it seems like if it doesn't work in your world it will NEVER work and you need to go to a different world.

the most "consistant" if you can even call it that, for me has been The Far Woods and ward 13 juggling, with forced system time skip +30 minutes in between. During that you can walk in and out of the dungeon behind the teleport in The Far Woods and attempt to trigger then too.

What the heck?!

I went from the check point of one area during blood moon and went through the whole area... essentially backwards. The wisps don't spawn... Start running back to the check point to try something different and they start spawning like crazy!

What is going on?

This has to be one of the worst implemented mechanics I've ever seen.

Doors that only open during a Blood Moon? Okay, sure. One finally triggered? Oh... the doors still aren't opening. Okay, maybe I'll go farm these Root Wisp to gather enough essence for the Summoner? Oh... none spawned anywhere. And now the Blood Moon has ended.

What a fantastic waste of time. Imagine implementing something this badly and thinking it's acceptable.
