favorite starting weapons?
Service pistol is a rather nice and simple starting pistol, feels nice to use.

Tech 22 is the only handgun I've felt comfortable using tbh. High firerate, suppressed, fast reload, pretty accurate, good at medium distances.

I tried going with the service pistol at a point but it just doesn't feel the same.

AR and Tech 22 just felt really comfortable on my first playthrough, pretty much didn't use anything else until i finished the game the first time.

The LMG, bolt action and western classic are my favorites.

Huntmaster feels best out of the long guns for me, even though I mained the AR in Remnant 1.

Tech 22 is still my go-to handgun, but I've enjoyed the Challenger starter pistol as well, can't remember the name. The 5 shot revolver.

Big sword smash.

Bonesaw and Silverback are my favorites.

Silverback (magnum revolver) was my favorite in Remnant 1 as stagger tool before I melee them. Gotta appreciated that the dev put that gun at Challenger and has one of highest stagger modifier, as if they paid attention to what weapon players used correspond to their playstyle.

Ford shotgun, and hero sword. The bulldog and silverback are really nice though.

All of them are pretty good. My top favs are coach gun, bulldog, wrangler and bonesaw.

I really liked the Medic starting kit in my first playthrough. I used service pistol for a lon long time, since reloading/handling/fire rate and even distance to a degree are solid.

Bonesaw was also pretty decent, and helped greatly with stagger. The long reloading time isn't for every situation, plus the overheat, but since you can kinda skip that when used with ammo modifiers or gunslinger ability, about the only concern is the ammo that will vanish in seconds :D

Bulldog, ended up liking this one more than I expected.

Medic is really an underdog when it comes to the first pick of players.

even as a solo medic is insanely good, I started with handler, and quickly switched to the service pistol and would have used the bonesaw if I didn't find the crossbow early on.

Started with the handler class, immediately purchased the auto shotgun when I could. Have been using that as my primary with the fire ammo mod. Tons of fun.
