I have yet to find anything that even implies the social/political structure of these two worlds beyond the Dran being in a place of servitude, maybe?
The Dran seem to be akin to the Ofildi of n'erud. (Basically slaves forced to work.)
They seem to have a bit more freedom in their culture and way of life clearly from what we see of their cities, My guess is Fae hunts them down and makes things worst for them leaving them having a harsh taste of outsiders leading to why they attack us on sight.
This is one of the reasons I don't play with Randos. I wouldn't be able to relax and enjoy the lore, exploration and worldbuilding if I felt I was keeping people waiting or worry they'd do something to mess things up while they were bored.
Thankfully my wife enjoys that stuff too and because we can actually chat, we know what we're up to.
Back on topic, we're still tracking down the lore of Losomn ourselves. We haven't found a lore dump npc like on the other two worlds. Just the lady who runs the orphanage, but she's not that long winded.
When the One True King was assassinated, the two worlds collided and partially overlapped, since the King's power was somehow keeping them separate. There are a few areas in Losomn where you'll see the architecture shift from Dran to Fae to represent this.
Since the merging, the Fae have been hunting, imprisoning, and killing Dran for some vague reason, forcing many underground into the sewers. On top of that, the Nightweaver has been feeding on Dran, leaving them effectively lobotomised. Despite the comparative the lack of magic or training, the Dran do make explosives and weapons to fight back (see: Meridian). We never see any Dran in the Fae world so it's safe to say that they're not used as servants.
Early on in the merging the Dran couldn't completely see Fae, and those that did seemed to think that acknowledging the shadows might invoke them. But with the quill-drawn doors it seems like the Fae are able to fully, physically manifest in the Dran half of the world (e.g. the occasional Fae Butcher fighting a Dran gang).
also probably used as meat.
As was in the OTKs journal written by one of his chosen fae, the fae are inherently a very aggro race, that as noted in said journal, hunted for fun more than anything. So them hunting the drain who most of which can't see is par for the course.
For the reason? The Fae are violent psychopaths using them for all sorts of things. Effectively treats them like toys that they can eat and break at their leisure. There's a book in the Council's Chambers where the One True King writes about the origins of the Fae and references some of the key ones you run into. He writes about how the Fae are just naturally violent and demented. The One True King was trying to teach them control, culture and responsibility hoping that over time they will shape up but when left to their own devices they go off the deep end hard. The Fat Fae that has that banquet hall horde sidequest, TOTK tried to teach him cooking. He then experiments with cannibalism. He tried to make Nightweaver make them have good dreams, but notices she takes way too much pleasure in making nightmares. And of course she escalates it into eating them.
Explanation below:
The One True King's power was/is holding the Fae realm together. So when he got attacked and put to into a coma it triggered a calamity that caused the Fae realm to start bleeding into the world of the Dran.
