Iam 10 on my Engineer, thats why iam wondering.
Reaching level 10 with an archetype unlocks the trait.
Oof ok that makes sense now, but is pretty useless for me in hardcore right now.
I thought you unlock it for all classes once you reached 10 with one Archetype once.
The more i play R2 the more i prefer the system of R1.
But thanks for clarify it.
The only things "account-wide" are archetype unlocks which can be selected as starting archetype, and hardcore rewards.
And difficulty rewards, they are account bound too
If you beat the game on apocalypse you should be able to buy world's edge on a fresh character from Brabus off the bat. etc.
I am having trouble understanding this...
So if I get to level 10 on an archetype, I can switch to another archetype, but I will need to put ten new points back into that first archetype's trait?
When you equip an archetype, you get free trait points for this archetype's trait.
When this archetype reaches lvl 9, the trait has 10/10 points
And when the archetype reaches lvl 10, the trait is unlocked and can be used no matter the archetypes you have equipped.
Let's say you play medic, that means you get the trait "triage" (1/10 at medic lvl 0)
When medic is lvl 9, triage is 10/10
When medic is lvl 10, triage is 10/10 and can be used by other archetypes.
If you don't equip medic, you can still use triage but it'll be 0/10 and you need to put points into it.
Essentially that means if you equip 2 archetypes that are lvl 9 or 10, you get 2 maxed traits for free.
Thank you. This makes sense.
I had been operating under the assumption that once you hit lvl 10, that trait automatically applies to every class (at lvl 10). Glad I read this now. I will plan my remaining trait points accordingly.
