Modding = Great for the game and everyone!
The mindset that modding is bad kicked up again it seems, and it's straight up stupid. Had to be said.

Modding opens up so many new doors, like it did with the first game, but this time we will likely see even more stuff.

Custom models to replace armor with - Some people are already working on some pretty interesting stuff, but there is not much in that regard yet.

Difficulty - There is already a mod that increases the NPC count making the game harder and more fast paced, we will probably see anohter variant of the hell difficulty too from remnant 1, and much more.

Quality of life changes in the future, ones that devs might have overlooked.

Long story short is, mods allow you to tailor your and your friends experience, which can make the game way better.
But i do agree on something, if you use mods, you shouldN't really hop into public games, at least if they are gameplay affecting ones, not just visual mods.

It's a big grey area, of course most mods end up being harmless cosmedics/sound effects and smaller optmizations in terms of graphics or performances. A lot like ketchup it can ruin flavour for others so thats the main issue with a game with multiplayer.

Well cosmetics and sounds shouldn't be a grey area though neither graphical ones? Since they are all client sided, only you see them, or the ones who also have then installed.

i'm saying cosmedics are the harmless one, not the others like the traits or other stuff that change gameplay, it's a wire spectrum having your character have a different beard is not a problem, suddendly deciding that something should do double damage gets more iffy

Co Op Game, with mods only applying if the host has them (with some key exceptions that should be fixed) So...there is no such thing as a 'bad' mod really, just different peoples preference.

I have no issues with cosmetics and the like. I also have no issues if people want to mod their files to give themselves unlimited ammo and noclip with godmode. Just leave me out of the cheaty ♥♥♥♥. Cosmetics dont effect me unless they are horrifically offensive (im rather hard to offend in that regard) but I dont need people making me experience an easier game purely because they suck so much they had to mod files to make it easier for themselves then brought that ♥♥♥♥ into multiplayer.

If people want to make the game harder, again, go for it, just dont drag me along. I find the game perfectly difficult enough for my skill level. I beat Survivor, working on Veteran solo. Though tbf the mob quantity sometimes feels a little low, but other times its like "♥♥♥♥ off already!" so yeah.

Too many anti-mod purists these days, I swear. "I want them to remove the trait cap, but I don't want to mod it out!"

"I don't want to deviate from the developers' divine design!"

Etc.

Modding is always a good thing. Always.

To me, PC gaming is about customization. Tweaking a game to your liking through framerates, resolution, keybinding, peripherals, ray-tracing, FOV sliders, etc. I love all that jazz.

Modding plays directly into that. Consequently, I love mods too.

Really hoping the Bolt Brigade folks bring out a Remnant From Hell mod for Remnant 2, that really added a TON of longevity to the original game and spiced things up nicely!

Would love to see these "mods are cheating" folks play through a Hell run of Remnant 1 w/ that mod installed and come back and tell us how easy it was lol.

people are too ignorant of modding these days
they think modding is the same as cheats
modding is an amazing utility
i think every game should support it
if battlefront 2 can support mods than any game can

Battlefront 2 was such a huge comeback, for a good year or maybe even more it didn't had anything, and after that modders started popping out the best mods next to each other.

It's a shame that EA did that game dirty, Dice LA basically fixed the mess of Dice Sweden and revived the game.
What was the logical choice? Yeah disband dice LA and give another project to the incompetent swedish team. Way to go...

Mods are an extra created by the community for the community.

Being an extra they are not mandatory ( and nobody will enforce them to anyone), so it's up to players whether to use them or not.

But having additional choices to customize their game is always good ( worst case scenario, you play the vanilla game).

it starts with cosmetics then it ends up with 1 shot to the main boss , yep this is what killed monster hunter i had many friends with over 500 hours in that game until threads like this starting popping up it was all cute at first but it didnt bother us but what destroyed the game was the 1 shots to the bosses we worked hard to master. Please dont bring mods to MP keep it to yourself or its going to self destruct like many great titles that we dont even hear about anymore on steam.

I mean, monster hunter had some essential mods, like the hud ones.
And i solod fatalis quite a few times in world, but i don't care if someone one shots it, why should i?
But i also always used LFG or played with friends in that one too.

Modding itself is fine. The problem is some modders do not draw a line between modding and cheating.

So mods inevitably march towards becoming legitimized cheats. Even that is fine if your gonna stay in your own little box, but then add in multiplayer...

Look.... Basically I don't want to play with cheaters, I don't want to play with people who cheated to get their stuff as I don't want to indirectly benefit from someone who cheated.

Thus I don't want any cheaty mods that can in any way effect me. Thus I don't really like mods in my multiplayer games.

Mods are the smallest source for cheats considering how many free trainers are out there.
Witch hunting mods because of cheating when actual cheating is a hundred times simpler is a strange choice.
