Labyrinth Secret Platorming Area below the map?

So my friend and I have explored this Labyrinth area as much as possible. But we came across an area that you just jump down a bunch of times until you find this inactive portal. There is NOTHING online about this area or about this portal. It seems too much of a coincidence that the developers would allow you to climb the half wall, and descend down like 4-5 jumps until you can get to this location. The only thing is, we have no idea where to go from here or how to activate this portal. We've tried jumping through it but we die. Has anyone gotten here and figured out how either how to activate this portal or where to go??

I'll try and take more photos showing the process of how I got to this point (it begins at the halfwall in the zigzag area where a bunch of the rock guys come out from the walls).

There's literally no one covering this part of the level, so bizarre. We've tried jumping everywhere. The other thing we haven't understood is one of the 5 outputs in that one portal leads to nothing it seems. Like, one leads to a boss, one leads to a wall that you can cross in another section, one falls down to a bridge that appears, and one leads you to a floating portal that you can land into. However, the 5th platform that moves right-to-left seems to do nothing.. though maybe they're connected? Any help is appreciated!

this is a portal you jump in after destroying it's respective "cube" for a Secret Gun that came with DLC 2

If it is what i'm thinking it is, it is part of the puzzle to polygun, i do not see you getting that gun normally, so look up a guide on the steps you need to take to get it.

I think they are referring to the polygun weapon too.
