are the dlcs worth ?
title

i am loving this game with my friend
are they worth ?

Are they just a one time adventure mode type of stuff ?
And would both of us need to own the dlc or can only the host have it and the guest gets everything

I can't say whether they're worth it or not. What I can say is that the DLC's add a 3rd story line to the respective worlds. Along side new gear and a new archetype. So if you want more content then it's easily worth it, especially if you enjoy build crafting. The One Shot Adventure just guarantees the DLC story roll along with new DLC content. Just getting it in story mode will have a mix of base game and DLC content. Note that not all DLC content is obtainable in a single run, not even with the one shot, but most of it will be there if you decide to play the one shot.

Only the host needs the DLC in order for both players to play, however the player without the DLC will not able to use the DLC exclusive items, despite being able to pick them up. They can experience the story and what not, but the items cannot be used and will have a banner saying so.

With this game, I decided to join random online DLC games so I can collect the DLC loot, then buy the DLC when it's on sale (which is quiet frequently).

But also, you're getting a lot of value even for $10 a piece, considering just skins out there are the same price or so I hear.

so the last bit of the story ended with a cliffhanger kind of ? unless we somehow got a bad ending

Any of the dlcs finishes on that ?

i finished everything solo apocalypse (base game even hardcore) and for me the DLCs were absolute worth. Just the new classes and equipment are worth it (eg status effect builds).
When trying to get 100% or at least every quest secrets etc the amound of time is worth the money too. Weapons also has quite some added with DLC that are for sure part of the best weapons in game section ;)

Well, that sucks! lol
The ending is still open-ended and somewhat ambiguous, but its certainly not a "Bad End", if you get my drift.

As for the question regarding the DLCs, I would say they are definitely worth it.

Even though each world variant is supposed to be an alternate timeline, the storylines introduced in "The Awakened King" (DLC 1) and "The Dark Horizon" (DLC 3) do serve as a conclusion of sorts for their respective worlds of Losomn and N'erud. The second DLC, "The Forgotten Kingdom", expands on the lore and world building for Yaesha that was introduced and only hinted at in the base game.
There's a build I wanted to use in the base game, revolving around status effects applied by throwing the Krell Axe. It was rubbish in many ways.

Fast forward to the DLCs and it's hilariously overpowered. Literally one-shot a room full of enemies by lobbing one spear at one enemy, on apocalypse. On easy difficulty it will finish some bosses in the time it takes to walk to the exit, barely breaking your stride.

You can make a shield build which isn't an embarrassing waste of time.
You can have infinite ammo.
You can have cool downs so rapid the skill hasn't even worn off by the time it's ready again.
The new Boss Rush mode drops random rings, amulets and guns. It's the fastest way to get XP, cash, dust, metals, fragments, basically everything.

Of course, there's the whole prism grind and the necessity to look up how to even use the damn thing properly. I modded the Sagestone to skip the grind.
I bought the dlc's and I'd say they're worthwhile. Each one adds a new archetype with a few weapons and armor sets each. They also add tons of new rings and amulets that help enable certain build archetypes that didn't work as well previously such as grey health, shields and so forth. You'll get the most out of it if you enjoy buildcrafting but if you only want to play through the preset campaigns once and be done with it it may not be a good value proposition as each preset campaign takes around 3 hours each to go through once.

The DLCs are simply more Remnant 2. They add more loot and content to the game's 3 main worlds.

The "oneshot" for each DLC is simply a curated selection of a DLC's exclusive events thus allowing you to see what you paid for without needing to rely on RNG to give you specific events.

That said, the DLC campaigns are normal-adventure length. Do you remember when you went through each world the first time? That's functionally what each DLC is: a new adventure for each world.

Each DLC's 'true' strength is in the equipment and the archetype it adds. Builds in the base game that were kinda so-so get fully fleshed out with many new tools to play with. If you like buildcrafting in this game then you should 100% buy the DLCs. All of them add a ton of cool and interesting stuff to tinker with.

People who do not own the DLC can still play through them with you, but they will not be able to equip any DLC exclusive classes or equipment.
