Can you tell what level your prism is without levelling it?
My group just started playing and we got our our first couple of prisms. I hear it takes a ton of XP to level it so figured why not level it now, to level 50 but just not roll it at all until we have the mythic fragments and stuff later

(We playing through at veteran, then nightmare, then apoc). But if the prism gets to max I'd swap it to the other prism we have (or more by then who knows). But I can't seem to tell what level the prism is currently at.

As of right now no. A full 120 elixir at the asylum will get you to the early 40’s that’s without fusions. After fusions, you’re looking at 1 level every ten minutes

That's not how this works. XP requirements after fusions GOES DOWN, not up. Stop spreading misinfo.

You can level a prism to max in 10-20 hours depending on what you do and you well you play. The real issue are the fusions however cuz they are frustrating. It feels like you are wasting your time leveling the prism just for it to take the stats away. So you DO waste your time. I dont have any clue how the devs thought that would be a good idea and that people wouldnt cry about it like crazy.
The ONE thing you want to avoid in game design are frustrating moments where people feel like they are wasting their time and it's not their own fault.
But yea the update was clearly rushed as ♥♥♥♥ and no real thought went into a lot of the stuff outside the DLC. Great thing considering they delayed it, and then we need to wait 2 weeks before we can reroll legendary perks.

Not sure how you think what I said is misinformation. Op asked if there’s a way to tell what level your prism is. I gave him a rough estimate based on my experience, from blasting the corner of the asylum for what now is going on sixty hours. Unfused my prism reached level 43 during the two hour duration. After all four fusions were obtained, I was averaging a level every ten minutes. Thirty minutes from fifty to fifty-one

Yes but I'm playing on veteran. Just finishing play through 1. Got the prism after defeating the first world boss obviously so wen through 2 worlds plus labyrinth, plus root earth, etc just normal play on initial difficulty with three players while also always raising one archtype. Doesn't feel like that's comparable to what you are describing. I have no idea what "the corner of the asylum" means as a reference.

I guess I can back up the save, level the prism to find out and restore the save to see what level it is occasionally.

I see. My experience is in Apoc difficulty. The corner I’m referring to is the asylum, in Marrow Parish. It’s a map in the awakened king dlc.

As far as back up saves, the prism is predetermined upon cleansing it. So starting at zero, all the non fed fragments have been decided. So if you want to save materials I’d recommend making a back up save before you start leveling, just to keep yourself from having to farm shards again, if the prism fails.

Also note that right now the prism is bugged, if you screw it up, you cannot reset at level ten, you have to take it all the way to level fifty-one before resetting it.

Experience on lower difficulties is reduced so it would take you longer to level the prism. As of right now there is no way to see if you’ve reached max experience without leveling it up.

Unsolicited advice below:

I would recommend holding off on leveling your prism until you have collected all the mythic fragments, and are able to access the asylum on the hardest difficulty. It takes a little bit of setup, and the need to beat a dungeon boss.

Ok.

Sure but I haven't fed it fragments yet. I'll do that when I have mythic fragments much later. I just figured why not raise it to 50 now while I'm playing, then put it away and raise a 2nd one to 50, etc. I just want to know when it is 50. And of course I will back it up first.

The first thing I did when I found the prism was in my inventory (didn't notice it after the boss) was click on it which leveled it. So after it got to level 10 I reset it just fine. Unless that broke in the last week it seems to be working.

I won't level it until I have the fragements, I see no value to being in the asylym though. I'm just putting the XP into it now as it would otherwise go to waste.

Misinformation? hmmm....

If one is doing fusions and has been quite unlucky... then each pair needed to get to 10-10 and you ended up with a high level prism before fusing (imagine reaching lv40ish before getting a first fuse).

When this happens, the prism level will be reduced by 19 for each fused fragment (from the original 20 levels of the two fragments). So that means you'll be back at low prism levels.

At low prism levels, it is faster to increase levels. So the whole "10 minutes per level" isn't exactly wrong, it just lacks clear context... it will be fast only for a while but once the Prism reaches 30ish, it will take longer to gain new levels.

Obviously exp gains are affected by multipliers, world difficulty, etc. YMMV when it comes to the whole "how long for each level" count.
