You'll also be confident with ressing mechanics ( if you'll ever going to play co-op ).
Have Fun!
Awesome, thank you but quick questions. What do you mean by autoress? I’m still very early and new into this game so unsure what this means
Every class ( archetype ), if it's your main, will also give you a prime perk.
On your character sheet you'll see 2 archetype slots. one on the left ( prime ) and one on the right( your starting archetype will be put in the prime slot, and you'll unlock the second slot after some hours of playing ).
The handler prime perk allows the pet to revive the owner once every 2 minutes and only if the owner has a relic to use ( it will consume a relic upon use ).
You can also use it to ress downed allies instead ( if you want to keep doing dps while your pet resses ).
I like DoT effects so I use Ritualist a lot. What I pair that with varies. Generally it'll be Ritualist + Gunslinger, Engineer or Invoker. I swap around which class is in the left slot depending on what prime perk I want. Vile is great for clearing lots of weak enemies but isn't great VS boss so I tend to swap to the other class.
Otherwise Warden + Engineer is an obvious choice since they both have the same style of skill resource.
Engineer + Summoner for turret + pets. Engineer + Medic for lots of safety (though Warden's shield drone is probably better for pure survivability, at the cost of losing the turret).
Invoker giving double skill charges with it's prime perk is generally very strong when paired with any other class.
And as a reminder you can equip a second class as soon as you unlock it now VS at launch where there was a condition. Just buy one of the weird items from a vendor for 1500 scrap and take it to the guy in the crane with 5 white crystals.
consider that along with the 3 dlc, each biome ( world/zone ) has 3 possible story path ( 3 different endgame bosses ) and on the way 2 among 8 different side bosses can occur.
You can play whatever you want and restart when you are done ( or take a break from campaign and do an "adventure" if you feel comfortable with that ).
melee is not pretty good imo, but the game is not meant for melee ( though there are melee build that may do a good job, but requires a lot of equipment ). If you want to alternate between melee and ranged while playing ( even for ssaving ammunition ) it's pretty ok. just remember bosses are usually meant to be done ranged.
If you get to a point in the game where you want to start finding certain items, over worlds, or dungeons, download Remnant Save Guardian from github. It makes backups of your save file (very important since people have lost their save files) and analyzes your campaign or adventure roles, showing you all the places you can go and any items they have which you haven't yet collected.
The reasons included by this player also go into more depth about the usefulness and utilities that the class offered:
