the #1 thing holding back boss rush mode is

that a lot of the bosses arent fun lol
the bug that jumps on you and then runs up into the hole without fighting you, the guy that ends your run with the tongue grab that kills you instantly, the insanity orb that ur not allowed to look at, the fleshball boss that you run out of ammo fighting immediately & then it just runs in circles around the arena being impossible to melee for a very long time, the ceiling slime that spends a majority of the fight in the phase where u cant damage it, the firebomber girl where you spend the whole fight just waiting to shoot her hand bc u cant damage or fight her any other way.
a solid majority of the bosses just aren't that fun to grind, and it feels like the mode is hardcoded to prefer annoying bosses.

there's a mod that makes the gauntlet mode longer by adding bosses to it; i need a mod that does the opposite & allows me to blacklist bosses

Ok I don't like to use that term for anything other than joke but here I will be serious and blunt. All that you mentioned is skill issue and build issue.

People are blitzing through boss rush on apocalypse like a tornedo without ever stopping (unless they got Lydusa). Alternatively there are means to afk face tank any boss and plenty of in between.
If it gives you too much trouble then lower difficulty, gather more gear for better build and while you are doing it learn better those bosses.

The only boss I hate fighting is normal shahala form because of stamina management

True, Dulain and Weaver are two of the worst fights in the game even before we factor in the OHKs. Lydusa is arguably even worse. The best fights in the game (Anni, Alepsis-T, Tal'Ratha, Ravager, Cancer) are all engaging and do not have OHK attacks. Weirdly, Bruin is a pretty fun fight and does have an OHK, but for some reason it doesn't "feel bad" to play against.

i only play boss rush (not gauntlet, ive got stuff to do lol) these days & of these I've seen one, once (alepsis, was also my first time fighting him so it uh wasnt a winning run lol). im getting dulain and the progenitor literally almost every run, for the first few runs i legit thought that the boss order was pre-set like in Sekiro

You want "git literate"? Here we go.
Yeah you literally said you run out of ammo on Abomination, so find gear for better build.
You literally said a lot of wrong stuff about Bloat King or Gwendil hence try to learn them better while grinding for more gear, maybe once you know how to deal with them you change your mind about them.
Bloat King actually spends majority of time where you can damage it, those flying orbs that get out of him take weakspot damage once you crack their shell.
Gwendil (fire bomb girl) can easily be damaged just by normally shooting her most of the time, though rarely she can walk somewhere back of her platform being difficulty or impossible to hit. Just learn to better position yourself here. Alternatively there are dot or explosive builds that don't even require you to aim at her.

Oh and Boss Rush is named Boss Rush not your Favorite Boss Rush, as everyone else you will end up with something you don't like and will have to adapt, after all its meant to be a challenge against whatever game can throw at you... though it kind of ended as grind fest.

Bruin doesn't have OHK, that impale attack deals a lot of damage but can be tanked.
