I guess someone needs to practice the magister dullain fight :steamhappy:

Dullain too stopped a good amount of my runs, but now that i'm experienced fighting him, the best "strat" is to just run circle counterclowise as far as possible while shooting, then sprint when you see either flying bodies or tongue lash coming your way.

As for ammo management, this should be a non-issue wth the amount of Ammo Boxes looted in Boss Rush.
Otherwise try the Refunder ranged mutator, preferably maxed lvl 10 on the gun with the most ammo reserve and fastest rate of fire of the 2 you use. :MHRISE_OK:

Bruh, never played the new DLC so started boss rush. Jump rolled on the eye boss on my first try lmfao. Also ran meme aoe build and my boy hearty slime is CHONKY.
I've been using a build which can really only die to one-shot attacks or falling of ledges. Based on Warden and Engineer. I used StarKiller with Insulator to get a bit of shield with every shot, Zero Divide so I never need to stop shooting.

With all the defences on the base build, I took buffs for mod power and damage, reload speed, fire rate and HP.

With over 80% damage reduction, it's rare then my shield even goes down and when it does, a lot of HP regen kicks in. That build is basically invulnerable to damage.

Howver, it's own direct damage is really poor and movement speed is slow. It will get there eventually, unless Dullain hits me with his mlem. That build is too slow to maintain the proper spacing, or I get mlemed while shooting the two goons who appear.

Add this to the Magister Dullain shenanigans, he was was attacking my loop hole decoy...and suddenly the tongue does a 180 and grabs me.

This bosss is such a BS.

For me, I usually run too far backwards and fall of the edge in a bossfight with falloff edges. All bosses are relatively easy for me now except for the Red Prince whom I've only encountered once and didn't know what to do.
I have two preferred tactics to deal with the Red Price (or King Crimson as I call him in my head).

  1. Load him up with statuses which both let me see where he is through the wall of flames, and deal tons of damage constantly.
  2. Face tank him and let the big gun do the hard work.

Grab attack that one shots, with Insane range and tracking, and if you dodge too early, you die.
It seems to give around 300 ms to react. It's kinda cheap, but perfectly doable.

He was the killer that frustrated me the most when doing hardcore apocolypse runs, very cheesy one shot but i'd rather have him in the game than not, my biggest gripe is his weakspot only appears when he's attacking, way too damage sponge for my liking.

Hate this mf. The stress makes it so much worse. I can survive just about anything, annihilation on solo apoc is less stressful in comparison at this point for me.

oh and people here dont seem to know

enough movement speed and being relatively close to him (just within 10 meters) allows you to just run to the side when he does it and he will miss you. I havent tested whats the lowest for this to work out but yeah.

second thing is that if you hide behind a pillar, the attack wont insta kill but only damage you a little. same thing happens with an enemy infront of you but thats obviously a lot harder to do on purpose.

Got your advice, but my heavy roll builds still die occasionally under Dullain and Bruin's insta kills. Probably just need more timing practice. Light roll builds don't have the problem.

if you have high enough speed you can literally just run, there isnt really a user error for that one unless you dont run to the side.

i think 40 should be enough? maybe 50%. so like handler second skill and explorers trait. (handler itself gives 10%, the skill 25% and the trait from explorer 15%)
