Anguish buff(?)
quote patch notes : An overall boost to the Primary functionality and a slight reduction to the maximum damage that Loathe the Weak deals. Very powerful weapon.

really? last i check its still hella weak
i can hardly imagine with the newest changes gonna do anything
for all that trouble to get it, i still think this gun is absolute garbage
not that'd stop me from using it but like c'mon

Without any kind of build synergy it deals a sustained 1,000 dps.
With a reasonable direct damage build, it deals 2,000.

Now consider that it can spread that damage to multiple enemies, and you multiply that dps. It also has good stagger with the primary fire.

It has a niche, I've used it alongside the hunting rifle with Detonator, which was fine, I guess.

So it's moved up in the world from pretty rubbish to basically acceptable.

What are you guys talking about? With the right archon/summoner build, my anguish mod-only-mode turns into a machine gun consistently dealing 80,000 damage over the mod duration.

If you don't like the mod, you can run a hunter/gunslinger setup with Anguish + Repulsor AND the Onyx Pendulum + Provisioner ring can deal massive gun fire damage too.

When I first tinkered around with Anguish the conclusion I reached myself was that the mod was the strongest part of the gun. Interesting to hear that someone perfected that idea. DLC3 did bring in a lot of explosive accessories so it makes sense.

I'm curious though. What amulet did you end up choosing for the build?
I hadn't built into mod damage, I was testing basic ranged damage. With the same build, the Bulldog will deal over 4k dps sustained and 6k burst.

Building into mod damage, I can see how it would be very powerful, however, that's too thinky a build for me. I like the low effort Ritualist / Invoker and it's never ending Dot, when the cooldown is shorter then the status duration.

Anguish mod total damage is completely irrelevant, builds its used for achieve 98% uptime (1 shot to charge it back) or even 100% uptime so buff to duration did nothing to it in long run. That mod was in need of dps buff but instead got a nerf. It was outclassed by a lot by few mods before and now with buffs from recent patch there are even more mods that can dish out even 50% or more dps.

Anguish used to be trash on release due to a bug. It took roughly 1 month for them to fix it. Then it was absolutely busted and one of the best weapons in the game. After that it was put in line while still being one of the best weapons in the game.
Which it should be considering how hard it is to get.

The changes in the patch are kinda whatever, makes it a little more usable in more builds but aside from that it's still one of the best weapons in the game.
If you dont understand how simple build crafting works dont come here crying we arent stupid we see that you are stupid.
