Alpha Omega VS Monarch VS Nightfall?
All three have pros and cons, i know...but it seems to me that the Monarch might be the best of the three. I read that Nightfall is actually considered the best long gun...but I am sort of unsure about that. Maybe it is my playstyle, but I seem to do more damage with the Monarch.

Any opinions? The Alpha Omega looks good on paper. I have it -- but have not tried it out yet in combat.

Monarch seems most popular. Likely, the homing rounds part. I prefer merciless. But of the 3? Nightfall, with AO close second. I personally like thorn over merc, only because the homing is slight and the mod is fun to use.

Nightfall is pretty good yeah. The mod is powerful and straightforward. Great choice if your build is gun focused.

Monarch's homing bullets are neat. I found that feature to be handy VS Legion because you can hit the boss without looking at it.

AO, I dunno. I've never used it either.

No idea which of the three I would say is "best" because I've never used any of them very much.

I run ritualist a lot so the Sparkfire Shotgun is what I use most of the time. If I'm not building around status I tend to go with the Huntmaster M1 or Corrupted Savior. I also used Plasma Cutter, Bonesaw and Merciless a good amount too.

Keep in mind that almost every gun requires you to make a proper build for it to truly get out its full potential. Otherwise, no gun it truly the best.

Alpha Omega is weird, and I personally can not help you with that. I tried making mod builds, fire rate builds, explosive even. It's issue in my opinion is that the gun and mod don't complement each other.

Nightfall is not for me, but if you put Feedback as mutator on it, and equip cartographer's jewel, you can use its mod very often, and have all other available slots for builds.

Okay. Now let's talk about Monarch. Here is what you do:
Archetypes: Challenger & Gunslinger with Rampage & Bulletstorm
Amulet: Nightweaver's Grudge
Relic: Profane Heart
Relic fragments: Ranged Crit chance, Crit damage, and Damage.
-Rings-
Atonement Fold
Braided Thorns
Devoured Loop
Probability Cord

Monach mutator: Thousand cuts (or Momentum if you don't have that one)

The idea is to hook your target, use both skills, and then just let Monarch rip. This is pretty much THE build to go when fighting bosses that tend to keep their distance, which are a lot.

Don't have Nightweaver's grudge, Devoured Loop, or simply don't wanna go for a crit build? No problem.
1: Switch out Grudge for Neckbone Necklace and keep Atonement Fold on.
2: As for the other 3 rings:
Zania's Malice (since Monarch tends to hit weakspots a lot),
Stone of Expanse
and either Ring of Infinite damage, or Blackout Ring depending on if you want a better fire rate or reload speed. If you have at least a single point in the Regrowth traid, Anastasija's inspiration over both since haste among other things gives you 7% both in reload speed and fire rate.

3: Switch relic fragments to Fire rate, Ranged damage, and Weakspot damage

4: Ah! Almost forgot the archetypes. Keep Gunslinger for the fire rate and reload speed, but switch the other job to either Hunter with Hunter's Mark for better damage, or Handler with Attack Dog for a good enough burst and "2nd life" safety net.
