Harvester's Reach blob spawn rate
Is it normal for blobs to spawn by the dozens and out of nowhere after completing the Dria/missing wife quest? Is this a new secret event in Harvester's Reach?

I was exploring the area on a return trip, cleared the old bone pile areas where the Manticoras (giant ape mutants) spawned for the Dria quest, proceeded into the farthest chambers, cleared the blobs there, then suddenly, dozens of them spawn out of nowhere and were swarming me. I traveled all the way back to the World Stone, and the blobs would keep periodically spawning as I moved from area to area. Even at the World Stone's room (where monsters normally do not spawn), the blobs would spawn en mass whenever i moved a small distance.

It seems to have stopped after I used the World Stone.

It would've been an aberration with the "Minions" affix
There was no aberration boss music playing, no aberration in sight, and the blobs were not glowing red like monsters produced by the Minion affix.

I believe it might be a universal glitch that's not tied to a specific area.

If you remain in combat for too long reinforcements will be called in, who will spawn out of the nearest blind spots. However, if an enemy bugs out and gets stuck in the terrain, it can leave you in combat in perpetuity, making it so that enemies don't stop spawning.

Also, in that particular map, there are some areas that trigger an enemy spawn. One of those might've gotten glitched as well, prompting them to continuously activate.

Ah, thank you for the explanation. That sounds much more like the situation I encountered.
