Faelin boss fight, irratating

Took a break for a couple months and came back for the DLC. The Faelin boss fight feels a lot different from what I remember. He spends most of the time invulnerable and at the end of the fight he always seems to time his one-hit-death shot the exact instance one of the ethereal swords stuns me. Is there a particular class combination that deals with the one-shot mechanic better? I can't seem to time around his attack because he always waits for me to be stunned and just deletes me. High damage or tank, he just one shots em at the very end.

he delays his attacks quite a bit, dont be frustrated and just learn, you may die a bunch
i was struggling with him on nightmare with elemental resist as ritualist, but converting to shield-generation jewelery helped me survive and kill him

in the end once you learn the pattern you will see when you can damage him and just rinse repeat

If you are open to swap around classes you can try invader, spawn a decoy and you are safe. Just need to time it right.

Was just thinking the same thing. I'll break out my old invader and misty step builds after work and see how those do.

Misty step is good, if you prefer to have invader second you can also use backup into relic use, those spawn empowered decoys for 5.5 s or so.

I'm pretty sure I'm the weak link, I used to steamroll this boss and currently he just has hearty and thick skin but he's schooling me; playing on apocalypse isn't helping either. I was trying the shielded strike on my melee but he does not cooperate and keeps flying off, lol!

Faelin is pretty annoying I agree, but Faerin is a pretty good fight.

Invader didn't help much, ended up beating the turd w medic/challenger tweaked for high health and shielded strike on my wrathbringer; I just kited and went for 2-3 hit combos at the end. Wasn't glorious but got it done. Was really hoping I could pull it off w invoker/ritualist, that build is so much fun, but just wasn't happening on this fight.
