How to get the Savior?

So I was under the impression beating the game in any difficulty without dying you would get all the rewards. But I just beat it on surviver and all I got was the rings. I looked it up online and some say you have to beat the game on apoc and some say nightmare. They say Hardcore vetern. what does that mean exactly? I'm confused.

When you create a character the game will ask if you want the character to be hardcore or not. I think there's a checkbox or something on the character creation screen. I can't exactly remember where it is.

Anyway, you create a hardcore character and then beat the game on veteran difficulty to unlock the Savior. Hardcore characters can only die once though. If you die while playing with hardcore active the game will literally kick you back to the character select screen and you'll have to start over on a fresh character.

yeah I checked that box but I did not do it on veteran difficulty. Thanks for clarifying.
