In certain terms: Archon as your main class for spamming Mods, or Invoker (from the recently released DLC) for spamming Skills.
When you are new, the quickest way of playing a damage glass cannon would be to pick Hunter as your main class.
As your secondary you have a couple of choices. Gunslinger for full damage (if you have that class yet), otherwise Handler ("Doggo class") is solid, because the Dog is able to pull some aggro for you and has versatile buffs (I used the regeneration buff in my first playthrough. Not for the regeneration, but for the massive movement speed bonus, to survive with sheer speed and positioning).
Medic is also a solid choice, because it gives a good percentage to all damage passively and increases your survivability.
- Invoker/Ritualist with Miasma skill.
- Invoker/Archon or Archon/Invoker with Havoc Form & Space Crabs weapon mod.
Archetype with passive that increase all damage :
Medic, Alchemist & Challenger (within 10 meters).
Then, when gunslinger is available, I would go hunter/gunslinger (or gunslinger/hunter, not sure if there is a better option).
There are other fun archetypes and combinations but they may require more work/luck to get them and the item needed to make the builds shine.
For example, Archon need a lot of work to get it, starting by beating the game at least once. So really not an option for a starting player.
For the start:
- Hunter has the highest damage focus
- Reroll your campaign from the hub until you start in Losomn (the medieval world) for the most magic trinkets and weapon mods to be available
- with a little luck you'll run into either The Red Prince (reject his offer to pay tribute) or an elite molotov-thrower, both of these reward you with awesome boss weapons
- if you start in the asylum, figuring out the safe's combination gives you a sawed-off shotgun that's devastating at point blank range
- if you get the lighthouse dungeon, investigating the key and reversing it lets you unlock a door leading to another awesome shotgun that sets the target on fire
- the witch class is found in the DLC version of Losomn (must beat the regular version first iirc?) which is easiest accessed through an Adventure one-shot once you beat the Campaign version, in the second section of the overworld you can use the boats as platforms to enter a cave with a miniboss guarding it
