Am I stuck in DLC?

When I started a new character the only area I get taken to is Forlorn Close which is apparently a DLC area, how do I get to the base game areas?

the DLC just adds another start possibility with enugh dungons to fill an entire run with it. unless you selected the one shot adventure, you will only get random parts of the DLC. If you got the DLC start you will also have the DLC boss fights but the dungons can still be completly random. Its almost no diffrent to the normal starts in terms of being special, it really is just the 7th starting possibility.

if you still want to restart for whatever reason you gotta make a new character and hope for diffrent RNG or if you already beat the game once reroll campain/adventure depending on what you are on.

So I didn't accidentally start a run with just the DLC quest or something? Just randomised map choice and I can still play the base questline?

So I didn't accidentally start a run with just the DLC quest or something? Just randomised map choice and I can still play the base questline?

the DLC gets mixed into the base game, this game is supposed to be replayed. if youd only play it one time while not owning the DLC you would only see half of the game, cause every world has two story lines that can happen but with each run of that world only one of them can happen. The DLC causes Losmn to get a thrid version, instead of just two.

however the dungons within the worlds story lines are randomized, so you can have the DLC story line for Losmn, but non DLC dungons sometimes. same upside down.

So I access 1/3 of the stories by re-rolling my game?

This is my first time playing but having bought the Deluxe edition with the DLC packages I was a bit confused when I was getting DLC area+items on my first character

You access 1 of 3 possible worlds. Each world has 2 possible main storylines, with side quests that are random.

DLC is a new possible main story for 1 of the worlds. I dont have it, but is what I understand.

At first I was confused too, because of the portal UI. You will be able to teleport to 1 of 3 worlds, and the Ward 13 being you Home base. Once you advance on any of the worlds you will see the map start to populate and it will make more sense.
