Does this woman from the start of the game either die or leave the party early on?

This "strong woman of colour" stuff is tedious as hell. "old white guy this" "look how great i am i don't need your help and also i keep saving you" . It's so forced it's unreal.

I am considering buying and just want to be done with her asap, do you get to play without that annoying pleb quickly?

no it would be just as annoying. What does race have to do with anything she is complaining about? It's just a none white person being pissy at white people. That tired trope.

Yeah, that made my eyes roll too. But as mentioned earlier, she is gone quickly. Haven't finished the game yet, but the only time you deal with her is when you sell/buy stuff from her store.

It's just how those characters be, it's not a trend throughout the whole game, most of the game is "Oh shid how did you even get here? Word? Wanna kill something for me?"

If you actually look into her character, it seems more likely that she's really tsundere in personality. She wants to come off as independent but she also cares for the main character as seen in the tutorial. The tracking of you owing her is probably an attempt at keeping you around without coming off as soft. It could also be due to the environmental factors, she wants to appear actively useful so you won't leave her, so she keeps bringing up how you owe her to remind the pc of her usefulness, again, without appearing soft.

But ja, she gets turned into a store after the tutorial. A slightly important store but not one you need to interact with, commonly.

I wanted to play Apoc from the start so downloaded a save and created a new character to skip the tutorial. Seems I dodged a bullet.

You do have the option of skipping the tutorial when making a new character, so at most you're only required to play it once. However, I believe you do miss out on a free mod, a trait point and about 120 scrap you get from the enemies and the boss fight.

Wasn't 100% sure about that. Do still miss out on the trait point, or do you get that as well? If you do, then I guess the only thing you miss out on is the bits of scrap that drops from the trash mobs.

Not sure, I wasn't paying attention, just know that you still get that item.
