Any point getting power level above 14?
Title.
I'm done with veteran, want to move on to nightmare or apo. Traits capped. Power level 14.
Due to the way scaling works, it seems if i upgrade my gear, I'm quite literally spending resources to make the game harder.
Should i just move to apo as is, or is there any reason to upgrade my gear to lvl 20?

If you don't enjoy the challenge, I don't think so.

The main reason I can think of is to play with others as most will not go for PL-scaling optimization on normal-mode.

If only playing solo and just want a quick grab on rewards from apoc - kind of makes sense.

from my feelings the game gets less difficult as soon as you reach level 20 weapons and 10 in both archs by a hella ton compared to any other moment in the game because of all your abilites that you now have.

example, my one build gets flat out 55% extra dmg and 15% crit chance when at 10 on both arch types, but at level 0 on both i completly lose that. higher gun level will obv work better with higher arch type due to the higher dmg boost, meaning higher = better for me.

the most difficult time is level 0 and with each level and weapon upgrade the game gets less difficult for me

My dude, I'm obviously not gonna do an apo run with archetypes who are not max level.

That is not true though, enemies have minimal scaling level which is by the end of campaign 15, meaning player can stay at 14 and they will not scale above 15.

And enemies scale from 15 to 21 more than the player when grading weapons to get from PL14 to PL20 (note I'm only talking about the weapon base damage scaling as the rest of the equipment is anyhow either maxed or do not affect power-level). So game is technically easier.

It is kind of useful on hardcore to get easier time on vet-run for rewards.

The enemy scaling is really negligible in this game. We are not even remotely talking scaling like vanilla Outriders or something where enemies literally got hundreds and thousands of more hit point by moving up bracket. The scaling on your mods, passive and abilities is pretty significant though. I'm not a hardcore player so i can't speak for that but in normal mode gimping your power level is totally pointless imo.

nope, it's fine as it is
unless you want maxed out relic fragments, then you need 21

Do you? From what I've noticed, the level of relic fragments is tied to your total Archetype levels. Max out more archetypes, get better shards. I managed to grab a few Solid +4 shards at like PL12 by sheer luck, and getting up to PL16 hasn't boosted that yet.
