Um...no? I use it to keep my temps/frames in check, and a handy clock so I know what time it is (hell, Afterburner is what helped me realize I had malware at one point because my PC never runs at 40C idle, something my antivirus failed to catch). It's just odd that a game like this is so finicky with it while nearly all the other ones don't give such a hassle.

its the makers of Afterburner that need to fix it and are responsible for it, not the game devs. So direct your tears to them.
Game developers never support or care about random 3rd party apps people chose to use, thats not their job or their responsibility for that matter.

I also got the warning message for it and just ignored it , game runs fine and so far didn't have any problem running afterburner and rivatuner playing it

because there are dev houses out there who break it on purpose. I'm looking at you activision blizzard. They don't want you running monitoring software while playing their multiplayer horsesh*t.

They can allow it or break it. It's not always an outdated afterburner. And if you think publishers don't have an agenda then you're new..

I have run afterburner for years and never once has it caused a problem with any game. I don't use RivaTuner statistics server though, so I guess IT might cause problems.
Just got a new GPU and still running afterburner..... no hitches. Never gotten any sort of warning or notification about it from R2.

You can use After burner you just can't use Riva tuner. Riva tuner is a seperate install that does install with after burner if you say yes to it. It can be uninstalled or not installed alltogether by itself.

Riva tuner also causes issues with OBS.
