Same guns everywhere..
Before DLC about 90% people was using Enigma and some long gun. Now about 90% use Enigma and Spark shotgun at first 2 difficulties. So game have some lack of diversity..

Indeed. For instance, challenger starts with nearly the best weapons in the entire game with fattest damage and I am yet to find anything better.

get engineer and start a new game with engineer, he gets very strong weapons as a base character, saves you 10+ hours of farming on nerud:)

If you mean turret it is kinda unreliable since ammo ends quickly. Challenger shotgun has fat damage with fast reload. Revolver has fat damage in range. Big ass sword has fat damage and AoE sweeps. Nothing in Ayyisha, Nayrude, Cubeworld and in London so far was better.

This game lack of balance, thats why depends on who you ask, they will said this game is ultra hard or it is too easy.

i disagree, its actually a pretty bad gun to me (in personal opinion, not objectively) because of its short range, id take over 10 other guns before that one any day. nearly the same thing goes for the enigma.

Dude, everyone jumps into your face anyway. I am playing solo, so wearing burden of the destroyed works on nearly all bosses. Besides, shotgun isn't even that bad in mid range.

If you are playing coop perhaps you can afford to be in range. In solo though its all about close to mid range.

what you call London is called losomn and has a straight upgrade to your big ass sword, with the exact same stats, but faster first attack and about 80% more stagger dmg. that weapon is objectively better

id just say, and that with all my respect sir, you suck at looting

It is obviously London, your character starting coughing uncontrollably near some enemies without status effects. It was obviously dev joke about dental care.

I am not far in London yet, hopefully I will indeed find at least one better gun since the beginning of the game.

my average distance to enemies in encounters is about 15 meters, which is one of the reasons i dont like the enigma all that much (12 meters range)

if you have the enemies in your face thats your play style, which isnt bad in general, especially if you play with a shotgun, but the game doesnt force that on you.

you can play with a distance which i highly prefer cause its a lot less difficult to heal yourself if you can simply throw down a shield or go behind cover and the enemy first needs to walk all that way to you as if you stand right next to them and insta kill attacks dont get me either this way

why care what other people wear? :steambored:
On low difficulty, with a pretty simple build which you can get very early, Enigma will one shot basically everything, without even having to bother aiming. Why would people use anything else?

I spent a couple of hours yesterday speed running through the campaign on Survivor, effortlessly wasting everything, barely even breaking my stride. At the end of this, I got Anguish.

But Anguish is slow and annoying to use, while also being less effective, so why would I use it?

As for long guns, I'm going to agree the Engineer has the best start because they get the Pulse Rifle. It's a right pain to acquire and it's very good. It's fast, powerful, accurate and holds loads of ammo. The downside is it sounds pretty naff.

When I want to one-shot mini bosses and aberrations, I use the Krell Axe. Build it for heavy attack bleed and status and you'll never even need a long gun.

The Krell Axe is more fun to use than guns, deals vastly more damage, kills groups easily, has very long range and requires a bit of skill to use effectively. It's just plain better and I'll never stop using it. On apocalypse it still one shots basic enemies. Elites get more bleed from Twisting Wounds, and more overload from Enigma.

What is the point of using weapons which are neither as fun to use, nor as effective? Why would I use some lame shotgun which needs two or three shots when I can hurl an axe? Why would I creep through a dungeon, carefully drawing enemies one at a time, when I can sprint through and zap everyone once, then let them die as I keep running?

It is not players problem, it is game problem IMHO.

Its not unreliable in the slightest. Just dont use it for every single Enemy you come across, but only when the Music starts, and overclock it for more ammo and more Boom. Either as a Turret for Waves or handheld for Elites.

Currently my shotgun deals 5 times more DPS than turret. It is quicker to just kill everyone using shotgun than setting up turret just so I will have to move it 3 seconds later. First ever playthrough by the way. Nightmare difficulty.
