I am finding game harder than dark souls!

Is this game not designed for single player? I finally got to 1st boss that throws fire grenades..... died so many times quit. I have basic rifle and gun, no match for her endless firebombs.... how is this game even close to being balanced?! So went back on to try with cheat code.... basically GOD mode and turn my weapons into auto mode and still took forever to kill ... how is this a fun game??!! Tedious as hell.... too late to get money back.... but why do people like this? Do most people play with a lot of friends... I just can't get the firepower to create enough damage to kill without dying over and over. I have played Dark Souls 2 & 3, at least in those games there was a chance.
I am playing with the dog - was this the worse combo for single player. How did this game get good ratings.... no story, seems like endless waves of bosses.... How are others getting all these advance weapons in early game, I have not seen one weapon to pick up since started with rifle. And another issue, not sure why, but seems my rifle just locks up many times in middle of battle (playing on PC mouse-keyboard), I found if I hit right mouse 1 times in row seems to help, but some glitch. My guess this game was not deigned for PC mouse and single player combo.... wish that was stated up front vs. waste my money.
I don't know if the game gets better but so far I find the game boring, no story, reminds me of mindless doom with better graphics, and dark souls difficulty. I loved Elder Ring by the way .... so play solid games.... but this is like a 1/10 compared to ER.

Not sure this is the answer you want, but you can play trough the game just fine with the rifle.
Yes, you probably will die a few times but in my experience it did not happen that often.
Also, except for lower than expected FPS i have only had one or two crashes in my playtime.
For the grenade boss, you should try shooting the grenade before she throws it, it does alot of damage.

Just because you played Dark Souls or Elden Ring, it doesn't make you a good player in other souls-like games. There already plenty posts about claiming being Dork Souls vets yet making salty post about getting rekt by early boss.
Player's skill developed in accumulation of experiences, even games like Resident Evil or heck... Dead By Daylight can improve your decision making skill, mech games that has lots of customization can improve your creativity, and so on.

I never played any Souls series, yet I can just do fine in this game.

well i mean everyone is diffrent, i played nearly all dark souls and i played elden ring over 500 hours which no death and challenge runs done. but i also have a total of like 8000 hours in FPS games so yeah, this game is less difficult to me

No, DS3, for example, had summons for most bosses + coop was always a thing. And overleveling was always there as an option I believe (I only played DS3).

Every video I have seen on playing this game everyone has powerful weapons way beyond the basic rifle...give me a break!

its one of the simplest bosses in the game and handler has one of the best weapons as his starting rifle

So far I am playing my very first playthrough ever on Nightmare (3rd easiest) and did beat all bosses that I met in not more than 5 tries. I am sure you can do it on survivor (1st easiest) and veteran (2nd easiest).

the game could be somewhat challenging with a very first fresh character. You don't have an upgraded guns, do not have a good set of armor - but this particular boss requires just landing your hits and avoiding attacks.

Dark souls is easy. In the genre of those hardcore ARPG it is pretty easy. Long before the genre even become famous we have things like demon souls also from software but the level design is far more rage inducing then the later version of remake or the DS 1-3, we have the infamous ninja gaiden too. Dark souls open the door for casual gamer. Many will argue there are much harder souls like game than elden ring or sekiro that to many veteran rank quite low in term of difficulty.

Remnant 2 is hard if you play solo, the dodge is clunky. You cant spam dodge like bloodbourne and yet enemy sometime do some insane move. Early on most bosses do typical 3 hit combos but many others do very fast attack that very hard to dodge not to mention most attack will kill you in 1-3 hits. Nioh is also can be pretty similar except this game similar with Nioh have those so call broken build where you are pretty much immortal on veteran or lower.

If you play this game wiith 0 guide and solo, yes it is one of the harder one. This game difficulty drop all the way to 3/10 the moment you introduce build guide, adventure modes and multiplayer. For a coop game i can easily find most coop game to be harder than this. For single player blind playthrough, this is harder than the surge, harder than Nioh, harder than mortal shell too, harder than sekiro according to my friend that finish sekiro more than 20 times, harder than soul series.

Seems like game started you out in Losomn, the grenade boss is actually one of the easier bosses, all you need to do is shoot the grenade in her hands over and over its really easy.

Also, if you get yaesha any time soon, the last boss drops the Twisted arbalast, which is the best long gun for clearing adds, and works wonders on some bosses, but that fight is much, much harder than the grenade boss.

And since you started out in Losomn...you got your hands full of really hard bosses, the Nightweaver and Red Prince, if you find this 1 boss hard, gl on the others.

If you have troubles you can add me and play togheter, game is really fun in coop too.

Edit: Also, every boss and normal npcs telegraph their movements, remnant 2 npcs are much much easier to read than any other souls game id you ask me, once you learn their patterns, it really easy...there are rarely some times when you get an abberant with some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up mutators, that will spice things up consoderably, but in general, it's not hard.

the basic rifle is more then strong enugh to do the job (aside of every class starting with diffrent weapons, like the medic starts with the LMG which is my favorite weapon in the game btw, that i nearly always use from start to end)
