Beware the greys!
So, I am confuzzled here. In most games I come across, the grey health, is what happens when your hit. But here I am seeing legit items that work around grey health giving all sorts of things.
My question is, what is this good for? And what kind of play style would one need to do to take full advantage of it?

grey health is afaik 50% of the dmg you take and by default disappears if you take more then one hit.

medic has some great skills that go well with grey health builds and overall the reason on why you may want to go with grey health regen builds is that there are better regen/booster things for grey health then for health in general. they tend to be double as good as a normal regen one

example is summoners trait card that regens flat 1.5 HP per sec and bloodstream that regens 3HP per sec but only from grey health

So what would be a few builds for it?

Best use of grey health i have found so far is necklace of flowing life which literally converts your grey health into mod power. Used as part of a tank build it recharges your mods from taking damage which lets you spam a lot of mods. The other best use i have seen is steadfast mutator that will let you face tank any hit and ignore insta kill abilities by just turning the damage into grey health.

I been rocking the summoner a lot lately. In fact anything that lets me put minions on the field I am all for.
But I also like being in enemies faces cracking their skulls open. So I like dodging and moving in for the attack
If I can get the grey health thing to work for me I am all for it

Summoner is best secondary archetype for a tank and medic as main. If your gonna tank go full facetank. Dodging literally makes you weaker because you dont recover relics as much and you cant exploit stuff like the necklace i just mentioned. Plus you literally get weaker because you have stuff for dodging equipped instead of more tank stuff.

So what would be a good build then? Medic/summoner? and with what items?

The difference with regular health regen are:
1) Grey health regen only start working when not taking damage.
2) Grey health regen not affected by healing bonus.

For neck red doe sigil is entry level. Then nimues ribbon or necklace of everflowing life. For rings you really want seal of the empress because its such a large hp boost, anything that gives hp really is good. Heavy metal band is good especially if your going for a mod build since you can self damage with hellfire. But you have a bit of freedom on rings depending on the fight. Song of eafir mod is really worth getting as well. Use heart of resonance with your summons to getting like almost triple the over heal to get crazy hps. Thats about it not much to it.

so many of those I do not have

I only resorted to full tanking to kill last boss in apoc. Gives you some stuff to look out for on the way.

Oh burden of the divine that's the other ring you really need to make it all work as well to heal the group but mainly your pets for lots of over healing.
