Can't teleport in co-op

Friend and I are co-oping the game together. So far, we didn't encounter any problems. Then, we were suddenly unable to teleport anywhere.

First, we fought the Crimson Prince. When he died, my game crashed, but my friend, the host, was fine. I easily rejoined his game and confirmed I had all the drops from the boss.

Later, we entered the Night Weaver's area. We tried to teleport but were unable to do that. The Night Weaver said something like, "Humans and their dreams" during the attempts, so we figured this was probably intentional.

After killing her, we were teleported to the Labyrinth, but we are still unable to teleport to other areas. We just don't hear the Night Weaver anymore.

Now, here's where it gets weird. My friend discovered he can teleport when I'm not in his game. If he's playing solo, then he can teleport without issues. If I join, then he can't teleport. Furthermore, me leaving his game isn't enough to fix it. He has to restart his game after I leave to teleport again.

So, what's going on? Why is teleportation now restricted to single player? We could teleport together when we first started playing.

did you try if you can teleport when you are alone yourself? id also verify game files if you have a problem after a game crash

I've played coop a fair amount and never encountered anything like this. I don't have a "why" for you. Sometimes games just break in wierd ways.

Are you able to teleport when playing solo or when connected to a different game? Then your friend is the one who's bugged somehow. If not then the problem is on your side.

You can both try the following things if you want.

Are either of you using mods? Try uninstalling them.

Then try verifying the game files. If nothing changes after that, reinstall the game.

I got somewhat of an update. A couple days later, we were testing different things trying to figure out exactly what the problem was, and the problem went away. We thought we found a solution to the problem.

Later, the problem came back a second time, but this time simply restarting the game made the problem go away, even though that wasn't enough last time.

Then, the problem came back a third time, but a restart nor anything we did during testing fixed the problem. Furthermore, he said he wasn't able to teleport in single player too, even though that wasn't part of the problem before. The problem eventually went away during gameplay. He started the session not being able to teleport, and then a couple minutes later he was allowed to teleport.

What's the cause? Hell if I know. As far as we can tell, it's a glitch that will appear and disappear at random. It may or may not be connected with the Nightweaver fight. (That's the start of the first occurrence, and she said dialog during those failed, teleport attempts.)

To those who suggest verifying files, we did that already. Steam found nothing wrong with both of our games. Also, we're not using any mods.
