Game Won't Start At All...
I hit play on Steam and nothing happens. It worked perfectly before this update. I've seen a topic saying uninstall MSI Afterburner so I did and nothing.

We are a couple having this issue, I do not have those programs installed and I still have this issue. I think we're getting screwed on the event until they notice...

Does nothing happen at all? Does the game in steam say "Running" for a while then stops?

Well....lets cover the basics:

1. Remove any mods you have installed for the game + remove the mod loader itself
2. After you do #1, verify integrity of game files
3. Software which has overlays such as Riva Tuner, MSI afterburner can cause crashing so disable those.
4. Try running steam as admin
5. Try going into the game folder and try starting teh game directly through its .exe file.
Mine is downloading the entire game over every day it seems just yesterday i launched it and it took so long i forgot thne over an hour later in launched today i tried to launch it and its a full 68GB update going on like wtf? thats the entire game just downloading again lol so its not launching for me cuz of that and i have never used mods or anything like that crazy as hell.

I am using a fresh install, I do not use rivatuner or anything else, running the exe directly from the folder does nothing, and I am the admin.

the game requires 140GB of space. the one on steam store is incorrect. if you do not have 140GB and have another steam folder on another drive. steam will use both drives doubling the patch time.

steam does not remove appdata and documents folders. a fresh install means backing up your save folder and removing ALL related folders.

Steam has never tred to install a game on mutliple drives thats absurd. i have 3 drives for steam folders and my SSD is like 6 TB where i install most games i activly play. the game itself keeps trying to instal in an endless loop 60 ish gb of crap over and over and when it finishes it just starts over remnant 2 is broken lol

steam has a repair folder in case something is wrong with the folder. but i think using it is going to wipe all the games in the folder you repair.

and yes. steam will use multiple drives for patching. its absurd yes, but factual.

I have never had an issue with steam using all my drives to patch a game for any other game. If this happens again honestly ill just not play remnant cuz it has taking over an hour 2 days in a row now cuz it thinks it should download over 60gb of stuff lol remnants fault or not its only happening to this game xD

Was having the same issue.

It kept crashing on launch because the game for some reason wanted me to link my epic games account I don't even use. I had Remnant 1 on Epic Games so maybe that's why but this was definitely something new introduced with the latest patch for me. I was never asked to do that before this patch.

you may have a 3rd party app thats blocking the files.

I bought and installed the game yesterday, played once earlier today. Tried to start it about 15 mins ago and it showed patch notes had to be downloaded, but it redownloaded the entire 60+ gb file, and now keeps sticking at installing, 0%. Strange. No mods or any 3rd party programs.

Pretty much my exact same issue :bbtcat: outside of the fact I use a VPN which I turned off I can't think why this is happening.
