I agree, Apoc Annihilation has many one shots, esp with vicious etc. In multiplayer the damage scales up too.
I can't count how many times it took dieing to get the patterns down, but with a bow in hand and really low armor, I was able to push enough damage that made the different motions I had to pay attention to go by quickly.
Maybe that is my only real suggestion, focus hard into DPS so that you can simplify the motions it takes to defeat him.
What's even the point of playing 200 hours and collecting so much gear if you get 1 shoted by attacks or combos from regular enemeies or bosses.
I am just stuck at the last boss because the balls 1 shot me.
Can we just say how much the devs of the dark souls games understand their jobs?
Never in a dark souls i have been killed so many times in the first second by extremly fast moving bosses with cheese attacks that can't be survived even with the most defensive build.
There is no point in playing Apocalypse unless you are playing in a team of 3, when playing with a full team the game becomes so much easier because 1 player can tank all the attacks while the 2 other players do damage.
When playing alone, i am always stuck dodging or doing anything else but damaging the boss.
It's also sad that the hardest difficulty is just a plethora of cheap cheese 1 shot deaths.
I am completly dissapointed that they sold the game in this state.
If i manage to finish the game on apocalypse it's probably my worst experience in a game i ever had.
Nothing matters, you cannot get good in a game where a 0.1 seconds delay in a press of a button gets your health from 100% to 0% in 0.05 seconds.
All the gear i collected is useless
A lot of this game is really cosmetic with I guess mad tinkering with builds.
I think the idea less is more should be used by devs here but they did not.
Bosses are very sound centric which in a way kind of screws anyone who has hearing issues.
They got super lazy and made all bosses red colored so its harder to see cues too.
I hope with DLCs we can get back what made R1 so awesome.
All the armor in the universe won't save you if your health pool is too small to take the shot. Build large health pool+armor+regen.
I used dozens of different builds during my apocalypse run switching between different exploration builds and builds for specific bosses. It just so happened that I needed to fully invest into being a tank for the final boss while other bosses I focused purely into ranged dps, melee, archetype abilities, et. I liked how I had to adapt while playing apocalypse and never felt like I was forced to stick to one playstyle since this would have made the game far more difficult.
You just use cheese or get cheesed. Except for anihilation on apocalypse, that 2 phase stupid is plain stupid, laziest and worst decision.
Too builds are simply neutralised by many bosses, and we have only a few bosses in total anyway.
This became aparent to me when i realised Tal'Ratha doesn't get hit by tentacles, the aphelion and nebula can't destroy corpses in the small bug boss, the corruptor boss when he is recharging the golem has those tiny silly butterfly attack you and on apocalypse they will kill you in 0,5 seconds so you need a fast shooting gun or the turret.
And there are many examples of things that simply dont work and you have to change builds BUT also some items make boss fights so much easier.
The activly discourages builds the more you bump up the difficulty.
And anhiliation is the worst offender of this, you need to use the engima to destroy the balls otherwise the fight is not even playable.
Yeah, you can finish boss fights in a minute on apocalypse but you will die a lot of times and only the sporebloom hugs or maybe the bow build can do it wich are the most boring builds
Do you know bosses have extreme number of hp compared to 2 members? There's a big difference between 2 and 3.
You are wrong, the last boss can kill everybody in your team with a single attack. Good luck to revive them.
When you are alone, bosses have about 0 hp.
Also there's lots of builds that auto heal you but I never looked into that because it looks incredibly boring to me
