the ending
the ending was a big disappointment at least for me. it just gave me two ideas as what it means there will be remnant 3. OR thats the way dev say "we done with remnant".

There are three DLC planned
Make sure you do not skip the credits otherwise you miss out on the ending

the ending makes me lower the score of the game by 2 points, the story is so messed up like they didnt even care.
Don't worry, there will be a remnant 3 for sure since this was a remake of remnant 1:D

Oh wow didn't know and it's even more dumb now
So "the reset" to make the whole adventure pretty much pointless, gets rest itself, to make the reset of the reset pointless.

I mean, it follows the idea of dark souls where the world dies and is constantly reborn.

It reset to a point where the Root can still be handled, giving the player a chance to figure out a way to end it all without going with plan B which is a full reset. The 3 planned DLC should add more to the story.

i guess you can look at it like but from what i remember there is always a reason why it happens and if you resarch you can find most of the answers. but here idk dosnt feel right

The story's ending may seem at first glance to be disappointing but actually it's very clever.

It gives a narrative reason as to why the game's story would be infinitely replayable.

But that narrative reason is super cliche' at this point.

It's literally the go-to reason that most games use for replayability. That or "it was all just a dream" or "it was a simulation". Sometimes a combination of those.

The 'cycle' story is the most boring and un-inventive garbage...can't we just do something unique here?

There is another scene after credits... Wait till credits end and watch...

So that one girl from the DLC of the first game has godlike powers now, an killing that one specific root monster, even though we have been killing root left and right since forever, but killing that one allows mary sue to reset the universe?

Pretty sure she could have reset the universe at any point after you fixed the magical mcguffin, whether you kill Annihilation or not.

She just resets it because when you did kill Annihilation, it didn't work.

The entire story was pretty dog sadly. The Ending was just the icing on the feces cake.

my take on it :

She created a time loop where everything happens again, and again, and again ... but with subtle differences (like the quantum theory). So, in this infinity of possibilities, there is a chance that, at one point, one variation of the story can resolve the problem and get rid of the Root once and for all.

I love this theory because it embraces the way the game is done ... replayability ... every time you start again, you're just in another iteration of the loop and the DLCs can build on that too.
