You plant a seed. Then the seed grows and in the end you can get a relic from it.

One of the storylines on Yaesha involves killing The Corruptor at the request of The Eternal Empress (If you rolled the ravager storyline, you cannot get the seed until you reroll!). During this storyline, you can find an ornate lockbox in the Widow's Court location, which you can return to the Empress for a reward, *or* you can find an ornate key in a secret area in the same location and open the lockbox, which gives you a Thaen Seed. The Thaen seed can be planted in the patch of dirt at Ward 13. This will grow a tree that generates a fruit that can be harvested at various growth stages and gives you a consumable item depending on which stage you picked it at.

The fruit takes some real-world time to grow, but eventually will mature into celestial thaen fruit, which is plump and has yellow flesh. Harvest three of these, and the fourth time a celestial fruit would grow, the Ripened Heart relic grows instead. After this you can continue harvesting the fruits, but can't have more than one in your inventory. The tree is permanent for the character you grow it with, and will persist across rerolls.
