Easy to miss, was part of a Reddit AMA and I think they may have mentioned it on Twitter.
I'd argue it's a feature that should've been in the game from the start, but at least we're getting it... eventually... when it's finished... maybe.
Absolutely. :>
It took me way longer than I care to admit to even notice that they are in alphabetical order by default, so that helps for the 10 or so rings that I remember the names for lol.
Btw everybody, in case you didn't know. You can favorite your items with "F" to make it easier to select things you need if you are swapping builds for the time being.
- Why can't we use the map, access our inventory and change our loadouts while we're spectating?
- Considering how much time we spend just waiting around on coop without being able to do ANYTHING AT ALL, we need a "mute on background" option.
- For the same reason, loot, xp and rewards need to be given instantly instead of waiting until the stone, to prevent the criminal-minded from letting you hang in there for 10 minutes and then kicking you out just before they rest on a stone (or there needs to be a report for that so they are banned from online play).
- Leaving or disconnecting from coop should put you back where you were at the world stone, instead of having to go through the main menu and load into the game again every single time. Alternatively, we should be able to join online from the main menu. Either way, ANY choice putting us 10 steps back instead of to the same point where we made that choice, is just such a bad design.
- When we use coop quick join, we do not need to be told about a random error, be thrown into main menu, load back into game, wait the world stone animation, find another game, repeat up to 20x in a row (this happens ALL the time). This is like 90's level accessibility. Actually, it's worse.
- We need some kind of a region / ping limiter. Nobody wants to join games where switching or firing weapons comes with a 2 second delay. Absolutely nobody wins with that, the host doesn't want you there, you don't wanna be there. This shouldn't even happen.
- Unless we join a friend's game, do NOT put us in games where the host is either afk or in the town (ie. doing nothing).
- Considering all of the above, an average coop experience for me rn is:
- Why do all the trader NPC's need 10 seconds of idle animations before we can interact with them? What's with the billion pointless delays in the game in general? Did they seriously prioritize the NPC's sense of peace and need for a moment of quiet and time to reflect, over the very real needs of the players? The ONLY function for them, is to provide us with their services. Why do we need to wait for 10 seconds, or go through 10 steps of dialogue (looking at you Whispers stop scribbling and give me my gear), every single time?
- Why is helmet visibility an account toggle? It makes no sense. That is a costume option, it depends on your costume. And your character. Not your account. Who would ever put that as an account option?
There's more but I'm gonna stop here. It's insane to me that the reviews of the game didn't at all note these absolutely staggering QoL and gameplay issues.I'm completely uninterested in whatever network error / host realizing they had coop on so they kicked me while I was loading / host quitting the game, whatever. If you can't find the game, then automatically go for another one, and keep doing it until it works or I cancel. The current level of usability is like if we had to manually reconnect to wi-fi / internet every single time there's a moment of packet loss on your PC (so several times an hour at least, probably several times a minute), it's absolutely unheard of levels of inane.
1. Spend several minutes changing my loadout
2. Mute the game on EarTrumpet so I can at least do something else on my PC
3. Spend the next 5-10 minutes manually navigating from main menu to game to rejoining matches over and over and over, and probably spend a good 5 minutes waiting, to finally find a game that doesn't crash to a random error, and where the host isn't afk or in town
4. Spend all the time inbetween watching streams or browsing memes, at least when the game isn't bothering me with pointless prompts about sending me into games I couldn't join in the first place
can easily be summed up as "Console Port" is the reason why remnant has so many limitations.
Remnant 2 was definitely designed for the PC first.
You are using those words, but it doesn't seem like you understand what they mean.
The game is literally "finished" right now, it's just going through some bugfixing essentially. Anything else we get (in the MAIN game, not dlc) is additional content that was never even promised to us. Not sure what this is supposed to mean, but it comes off as extremely underhanded.
