Would be strange the opposite, as this is no mmo ( or any another grindy game with rpg elements and endless progression).
When you stop having fun with a game ( that entertained you for more than XX hours) you just move on and get a new one.
Not everyone can afford a new one but that aside i still feel this could have been so much better if some different decisions had been made.
Trait cap for one removes hours of potential replay ability and would open the possibility to get stronger without the need to run countless resets in adventure mode.
No matter what others say they have lost countless players due to the trait cap,
Over and over?
You can replay it, but not indefinitely.
Consider that several people already hit apocalypse in less than 100 hours ( do veteran, nightmare and apo ), in addition to rerolling some adventures to get more items.
While you can replay a game as long as you have fun, at some point you will drop it and move to another one.
Not being able to afford a new one is ok, but it's not demanding/expecting that a similar game ( without dlc) would last indefinitely ( or 100+ hours) regardless the player who plays it.
I mean, I used to play for slightly more than 200 hours, but I spent a lot of time playing co-op with friends, helping people on discord doing bosses or runs, trying builds and even staying afk.
When the roguelike dlc will come out ( or any other dlc) rest assured several people will come back to try it/them out.
Another issue is that this game seems to set the lobby settings to "Public" by default. This leads to joining people who aren't even willing to play co-op and kicking you out immediately. This means that you sometimes have to go back to the main menu several times in a row. This becomes extremely frustrating when you try to play co-op in this ONLINE COOP GAME with no regional match search, no lobby browser and no way to communicate.
It shocks me that this game uses the latest game engine on the one hand, but lacks the most common features that have been around for at least two decades on the other. That doesn't make sense from A-Z and it doesn't make sense in Fromsoft's soul games either. I don't know why some people think it's a valid argument not to have these things just because Fromsoft games lack them too.
Yes, Fromsoft has made some fantastic games that serve as a model for all souls like games, but that's no reason to ignore 30 years of game development. Fromsoft also makes mistakes. It's perfectly normal for multiplayer games to have some sort of region filtering and communication feature, and the games that lack that are the ones that get it wrong, not the others. The developers should finally arrive in 2023, the same goes for some players.
Peace ;-)
Its depressing the game is dying, but your comment is very accurate.
All the other better games coming out doesn't help really.
Can't wait for Anthem 2, and Remnant 3.
That and there's just nothing to do after awhile. Archetypes are too easy to max out and then there's no more progression.
What's more devs have taken out the fun out of the game with nerfs, trait limit, there is nothing to do end game wise and some players who are less skilled will struggle soloing - noone to help them since most people moved on.
So first BIG mistake in Remnant 2:
Too many riddles and way to less interesting enemies (I don`t talk about bosses here).
-A well-balanced difficulty encourages the player to aim at higher difficulties rather than discourages them.
That's the second Big mistake:
Too much punishment... If you struggle in a game you will try to level your gear or to look for allies... The normal scaling AND the multiplayer scaling failed to be helpfull here.
To be honest, the "git gud" crowd did a lot of damage too.
-It's good to aim for new players, but don't forget your fans.
I don`know the exact numbers, but I've got the feeling, that the Destiny and Dark Souls fans enjoyed Remnant 2 way more than the fans of Remnant from the Ashes.
(For me) the third BIG mistake:
Remnant 2 is not enough "Remnant"
Remnant 2 is a great success and thats nice for the Devs.
But I am no Dev, I'm just a player that enjoyed "Remnant from the Ashes" a lot, and didn't even find the willpower to level the Archon or to find the few remaining weapons and upgrade them too, at all.
DLC? Remnant 3?
Thanks but no thanks
Actually, they nerfed bosses, afflixes and MP scaling to the ground thanks to casual players, ending up ruining the last difficulty which was supposed to offer entertainment for those who wanted a challenge.
If a player struggles even at the lowest difficulty, they should just slow down and try to better understand the game, because there's nearly no challenge in survivor.
Don`t blame the "casuals" here... smart devs could have made the lower difficulties more accessible, without touching the higher ones.
Well, lower difficulties ( survivor/vet ) are ( were ) already not hard.
But I do agree they could have tweaked afflixes and MP scaling with difficulty in mind, rather than listening to the player complaints ( or just to make even the last difficulty affordable for anybody, rather than something meant to offer a final challenge ).
Who cares about bad games? What about BG3 has 800k online?
Nope, you can get 100% achievements after about 70-80 hours. All achievements are easy to do. You will get 200 hours only if you do weird things like mythic grinding.
I added a negative review. You can just read reviews if you don't know.
If you mean doing what the achievement asks for, I do agree.
However, if you mean getting the achievement... well... a lot of players would disagree with it ( as they are not currently able to hit some of them cause bugs ).
Did you expect otherwise? People will be back when there's updates or DLC drops. It's fine.
