Is that a valid ban reason? (from the moderations pov)
SO, I joined a random server/ public game. And as I entered I received a lot of items, turns out someone was spawning items somehow. My only guess is, that this player was obviously cheating them, and those items stacking up on the ground. And as the game allows it, if one player picks an item up every one gets it, not county the ammo pickups. SO, right to the point, as the game is still in development, there is no report section, where I can report players, neither is there any way of protecting oneself from such happenings as I see it.
My worry right now is, that I get somehow tracked down, and I am fearing me getting banned from this game, or characters getting deleted.
Is there a way to contact support by the game or sorts?
Just for info, I can't recall the name of the player, or if it even was the host of the public game.

Ehhh....You will not get a ban. This isnt a mmo or any other game where this is in any way significant.

You won't get a ban, don't worry.

And those who ruined your game ( in case they ruined it by generating items you would have liked to get playing the game ) won't get punished either.

The game does not have anti-cheat or any detection of that sort. The developers have given their blessing for people to mod the game as they see fit. Some people do choose to use that freedom to cheat if they want. If you run into this in the future just leave the game tbh.

The only thing that needs to happen at this point is to let people opt out of joining modded games if they want.

Remnant 2 isn't an MMO or live service. There are no dedicated servers nor are characters stored on a server. If you're worried about something happening to your character I suggest making a backup or just stop joining public games.

You can find your save data here:
%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Remnant2\Steam
Just copy the folder(s) in there somewhere safe.

In remnant 1, I remember people joining random online games, and getting flooded with gear like that... and some of these items were hacked. You'd end up with millions of ammo, and everything would get buggy after that.

I'm assuming the same thing can happen in Remnant 2 as well.

There should be an anti-cheat in there to help with some of this. Game is going to hell really fast.

Just for the record - you can restore a backup of your save by renaming one of the "bak" in the folder mentioned above. I don't know how often those are made, however.

You wont get a ban , remnant is just awesome like that
HOWEVER , If it ruined your save , go to your "Saved Games" windows folder , inside the remnant savegame there are .bak (back up) files which you can use to restore you previous save game ... Hope that helps

Dark Souls had infamous exploits since the first game, and they continued all the way to third. For example people could drop cheat items in the world and if you picked it up you'd get a ban and/or a corrupted save file. 10 years, 3 games, the same hack and innocent people burned for it, and they did nothing.

So the OP has a very *extremely* valid question I'd say.

Sadly, there is no anti-cheat software in this game. Also no voice or normal chat. So neither protection from other cheating players nor the possibility to communicate with them. The developers don't seem to care, you can't report the cheaters either. Unfortunately Gunfire Games seems to ignore this aspect completely, which is at least questionable :-/

I'm kind of glad they aren't worrying about moderating the game or banning cheaters. As long as no one's bricking someone else's game/computer via game hacks, it's not going to hurt someone. It also leaves the modding community alone to do their thing, which is always a plus. I already saw a mod for bigger multiplayer, which sounds awesome

But then, I guess I don't worry about it because I don't play with randoms, I'm either solo or with my buddies that also play. Some stranger cheating themselves out of the experience doesn't affect that bubble.

You have nothing to worry about, the devs have already stated that they don't care what you do with the game after you buy it. Mod it, cheat it, glitch it, it's at the players discretion. If you don't mind the items, then everything is perfectly fine.
