Best weapons for Challenger
What are the best weapons for this class? I still use AS-10 for long gun but now I also founded double barrel, since this class in based on close-range combat

The bulldog is basically the perfect long gun for it. Ford's gun is probably overkill if you're into that kind of devastating power. Coach gun still hits pretty hard even for things outside its range. If you want some range, Blackmaw or Typewriter.

For handguns, the Silverback is already a good pick for it. But if you need more shots, the Service pistol is always a reliable gun for basically any build. Tech 22 is probably an odd pick but it has powerful ammo dumping capabilities.

Would say if you are early game get the Coach gun and try get some reload stuff, after you finish game buy sporebloom and stack reload with gunslinger as second class.

Shotgun is fun but starting with it in Nerud sucked. Stuff was out of effective range, drones attacked in huge numbers and spammed sniper attacks. In boss battles you have to be close yet they like to fly away and you tend to run out of ammo and need to reload.

When it works of course it is massive damage.

Personally my experience on challenger/hunter which was my starting point became much better once I bought Bonesaw machinegun.

This is exactly what happened to me. I swapped to Bonesaw too and stuck with it ever since.

Savior, nightfall, pulse rifle, plasma cutter, enigma, hellfire/nebula, bows, mp60r, blackmaw47, sporegun, sawed off, basically any long gun/short gun that is highly tiered. There are guns that are just better to use. You can use any weapon close range and just because a class is "close-range" doesn't mean you need to use close range weapons. I'd argue in video games this concept is generally lost anyhow.

Shotgun meta is a thing, but it's more useful on bosses than world mobs that fly around.

Depends on the situation, really, but I usually end up falling back to the Bulldog + Tech-22 combo. Hard to beat a gun that melts anything at medium to close range in one or two shots.

I'll sometimes swap it out for the pulse rifle or devourer if it's something that requires more finesse, but for example I did Nightweaver with pretty much only the tech-22, swapping to the bulldog to take the spiders out quick. Haven't tried the Enigma out yet but people are also very happy with it.

Unless you also have the Hunter 'Longshot' trait and that ring that extends range (Targetting Jewel or something?).

Effective range can be pretty decent.
