Question about the Burning Man and the Butcher(Spoilers)

Theres a friendly Dran hanging from a chain who gets burned alive in the Butcher's quarter.

Was I supposed to save him before the invisible timer ran out? All I got from that entire dungeon was a mediocre ring.

It's just a small event to do on the side. You either let him burn and get nothing but a trait, or save him and get the same trait, and a ring after talking with him.

You can save him and get an alternate reward for doing so. Just keep an eye out for enemies holding torches and take them out first and foremost. AoE Mods and abilities that stagger help out with this a lot.
