2nd run - lose or keep weapons?

do you lose all traits and weapons in the second run? do I start over again if I wanted to play a harder difficulty?

You mean, when you reroll your campaign ?
No.
As long as you play on the same character, you don't lose anything.
Except quest items (but not the light)

Only if you create a new character.

If you re-roll your campaign using the world stone, you keep everything - You can also select difficulty when re-rolling.

The point of rerolling campaign is to match the difficulty to your gear and playing skills.

Also remember, rerolling will re-generate the maps to allow spawning of alternative areas/bosses you haven't encountered before. So if you don't do that, you will be missing on a lot of content and items.

All-in-all, rerolling is what you should be doing on the long-run :)

Oh I just did, killed him first try, by a thin margin. thanks to doggo
