So if you're in a multiplayer match, and they see you wearing leto II armor, they'll assume you're a super heavy tank. But with your "cosmetic" armor idea, you could really be wearing the lowest armor possible, and they're going to really confused about why you keep taking dirt naps every time you're hit.
See the problem?
I'm personally supremely uninterested in judging other people's performance based on their look. The more freedom of expression people have, the better. If it's THAT important, then an actual "inspect" feature or some sort of text chat would be a far better approach.
I think it was just changing the color of some armor pieces. I don't recall the first game having proper transmog.
But you could do what I did and wear a Bright Steel Ring.
Or any of the encumbrance lowering accessories/potions/traits.
Each set got a single alternate colour variant, like the black Akari set or the glowing Twisted set. A bit different from overriding the appearance of one armour piece with that of an entirely different one.
Ah, thanks for reminding me. Yeah, guess I forgot how that worked. It's been a while. Pity. I still wish we could do overrides. I like Leto's armour as far as appearances go, but I'd like to play around with different looks without rejiggering my entire build.
if i have to wear a ring to negate some or even ALL of the weight, that takes away a ring slot. so no. that is not a solution to my issue.
I don't think they went big enough with the concept though. Let me spell it out in two words:
SPONSORED LICENSING!
NFL jersey skins for the torso slot! represent your favorite team while you kill bad guys in remnant II. Soccer for the rest of the globe! With either country logos, or the #'s of famous players on the team!
Licensing from other popular IP's, in gaming, anime, and movies! Want to wear donatellos head from teenage mutant ninja turtles? how about optimus prime? Or sailor moons skirt & legs, or mickey mouses arms with the iconic white gloves.
Or free cosmetics sponsored by companies. How about an outfit entirely in T-Mobile pink! or amazon's logo on a torso skin!
The possibilities are endless! It's all about players being able to express themselves, right? I want to have spiderman's legs, robocop's arms, and a battle toad head. All we need to do is add the microtransaction shop to properly charge for the licensed use, and we're set!
Way to be a sarcastic ass. There's an actual discussion you could have taken part in. Instead, you chose to be a troll. Don't be surprised when nobody cares what you have to say.
