Low GPU usage AND low frame rate, is it normal?
In the ward I am getting mostly in the low 20s FPS, while the GPU usage hovers just under 40%, as reported by Afterburner and HWInfo. Are others seeing something like that?
Playing at 1440p with a i7-10700K and RTX 4070, 32 GB RAM. Latest NVIDIA drivers installed.

I get that after resetting to the default settings, and if I switch the quality to Medium it doesn't make a difference. Lowering the res. to 1080p gains a few FPS, but still under 30 FPS and GPU usage still just below 40%.

Strange how many devs forget that PC's have graphics cards in them and they expect your CPU to do everything. But then again they cant even get your CPU usage to work correctly...

Welcome To Gaming 2023... What is a graphics card and CPU? edition

"Just download our streaming service where the game can run correctly on the only PC on the entire planet" ( THE ONE IT WAS MADE ON )

Its really weird, the xbox gamebar (windows key+G) resource monitor shows the game is using 100% GPU but other software shows the usage is only 20%. Getting 20-30fps in the ward but around 60 on other maps while in combat. Weird ass ♥♥♥♥.

7800x3d + 4090 needs frame gen to get 60fps. What are devs doing out here smdh

For a 2023 game it's completely normal. Welcome to modern PC gaming.

To anyone that cares... Shadows and Effects on high or med... That will help the most. The rest don't seem to heavy, for me at least at 4k. I have a 7900x/7900xt/32gbRam/m.2 at 3840x2160 using FSR Quality, Ultra settings besides shadows and Effects on high...100% GPU and 20-50% CPU. Getting 60-75fps in ward and out in the game world 70-90fps. can dip to 60-65 around heavy lighting and fog areas with particles and foliage. I really wish we could just do native 4k at a GOOD 60fps,(because this games 60 does not feel good) and I hate using upscalers on a 48" screen. Also I only make these comments to try and help people or give them frame of reference, never trying to cause bickering

MSI afterburner shows that the game is using 100% of my 4090 so I’m not sure. Maybe they spent more time developing on the 4090’s?

I think its because if playing at 1440 and then using a scaler its even less of a load? I would think. I know at 4k when I test FSR on other lighter games it will only use 70-80 because its rendering less. But not this game its pinned at 100 lol

same cpu + 3080 and I get 90-140 on high with DLSS on performance and 1440p

Also make sure your using DLSS. This game can barley run native 4k on a 4090 at 60fps... from my understanding. 7900xt native 4k high is like 40-45fps

Your CPU is probably good. Or possibly you have everything set to ultra and run on 4K.
