ADS Tanks frame rate on Steam Deck
Anyone else running into the problem where aiming down the sights causes the FPS to tank from 30 into the low 20s?
Tried FSR, XeSS, native, and fsr super resolution down to 480p. The drop happens no matter what.
Otherwise it feels pretty consistent.

Anyone else having this issue with their deck, or has anyone else found a workaround?

I'm just having bad performance all around on the Deck, regardless of settings. I think it's safe to say this isn't Deck friendly at all. Doesn't even reach 25 half the time.

i haven't noticed that. granted I've only played a bit on the Deck, i just found it to be too hard to really see what's going on and the frame rate is bad. the best setting i found is to run it on Proton's Experimental and use the Intel upscaling mode, not the AMD one in the settings and set everything to low. This will keep a somewhat steady 30 but will drop to 20's. I would probably play this anywhere else if you have the option, rather than the Deck.

Oh heck, thanks for recommending the Proton Experimental thing, it actually functions now! Not well, but it is playable enough
Tried experimental, regular, and GE but ADS still tanks the frame rate. I honestly dont even mind it when im not aiming, it's a pretty decent 30, but I cant play a shooter where aiming halfs the frame rate. Guess im on the PC till it's fixed

For what it's worth, I capped the game's framerate in game to 30 but set the Deck's framerate and refresh rate to 60

i did the same thing with the cap and refresh rate and found that to work best
Honestly... If many people with more then powerful enough rigs are getting performance issues. That kinda just says the game isn't Steam Deck ready yet as well.

Yes?
I don't give a flying ♥♥♥♥ if you think it should work on the steam deck or not The game is verified and the developers claimed it's verified.

atm the only way to get nice performance on deck is to apply Allow Assets Mods and just disable Virtual Shadows(r.Shadow.Virtual.Enable 0) and SSGI(r.DynamicGlobalIlluminationMethod 1) it will give you solid 40% performance boost for pretty neglectable for 7" display downgrade in shadows

That's a mod, right? Does it prevent you from playing online normally?
