All the starter archetypes seem fun to me so far. But Medic felt the least stressful to learn the game on. Since you can heal up between battles without relying on the dragon stone thingie. I tried Challenger first and that didn't go nearly as well.

Theres no true "best" but you can equip 2 and some amazing synergy, everything about hunter and gunslinger work well together, medic seems to work well with everything as well.

Havent played with all of them yet but the synergy shows

The great thing is Archtypes only level to level 10 and you can swap them in and out as you like. You can combine two.

I initially leveled Medic and Hunter a bit. When I hit 10 with medic I switched to Summoner and Alchemist.

Note however as soon as you combine two experience is shared between them so it will level a bit slower than only having one Archtype.

the one that sounds cool to you

Handler. You get a companion: Dog. He has 3 stances that you eventually learn. Tank, Healer, DPS. Tank passively taunts and you can do a 20m taunt. Medical passively heals so if you wait between fights you will heal up. He then has a aoe heal. DPS well, just more killz I guess haha. I haven't unlocked him yet. Currently running Handler/Medic and it's hilarious to have all these healzzzzz lol. I'm sitting on 5 relic heals, medic heal, heal from the dog, and a passive heal lol. Yeah, you're not killing me unless I'm asleep at the wheel.

Once I get some more rings I'll start building my character. I want to get it to I essentially am either so tanky or so healy that I can't be killed unless a one shot or I'm away or something.

The problem with Handler is you feel like the sidekick to the real hero. Your Dog.
Jokes aside the dog is pretty great.

I don't know if there's any "best", but Medic is always solid, especially if you like teaming up. Also, with the "Burden of the Divine" ring you become capable of saving the whole party with just a single heart. (Your damage is reduced by 10% but everyone in the party gets 50% of any healing applied to yourself, and yes this effect still works even if you're at full health.) I find that it's well worth the downside.
For people who prefer to go solo, Handler is a solid pick because the dog can revive you, and it provides some solid damage and assistance with things getting close to you.

Thanks for all the responses everyone, glad to hear that all these archetypes are good. I'll definitely try out the different archetypes to see what fits me best. You all were very helpful and I'll keep on looking at anymore incoming comments in this post.

I'm enjoying the challenger so far, I just picked up the engineer and as soon as I get 2 more skill points I think they will combo nicely. I'm currently stacking vampirism and that combined with the bulwark generation it's fairly tanky.
There is a best. It is by far the handler. 100 percent. Zero Questions.

Idk, went hunter and just did the pew pew snipe and just killed most things before they got close. Pretty stress free to me xd

I am really loving Handler, Hunter and Summoner ATM. But honestly, they all are good and offer something unique.

Plus, you really want to level every single Archetype.
The game keeps track of it and shows an overall Level for this (which goes over 20), and the higher it is, the better runes you find.

At least it says so in the character menu when you make the detailed stats appear.

Sweet, glad it goes over 20 since I hit that this morning.

Yeah, there are 2 Archetype levels.
One for the best two you have (which can only go to 20, since 10 is the max per type).
And one that counts absolutely all of them (which thankfully doesn't increase the power level).
