Can't launch game, Error message missing Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime
I get this error message every time, "The following component(s) are required to run this program: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime" which I have installed. I've tried repairing it, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the file. I've tried verifying the files of the game, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, restarted my system a ton of times, nothing will fix this error message. My system is well beyond the recommended settings in every category. So, I am forced with great displeasure to refund the game I was looking forward to playing. Meanwhile my friend is enjoying it no issues on his PC. I could buy this for PS5, but the devs so graciously decided not to have cross-play in 2023.

You can also get the distributables by getting the Visual Studio installer. For some reason this installer is the most comprehensive means of getting various runtimes (including .NET). But of course this suggestion is more focused.

There are guides/info online on how to fix it on your computer. I wouldn't bother anyways wait to see if they're going to give us more hotfixes. The fix is pretty easy though you delete something and reinstall.

I have not found a fix for this. I ended up refunding the game. Then, I decided to try it on Epic and guess what... It worked no problem. However, the new issue is that playing with my friends on Steam isn't working. It has been confirmed by the Dev's that the Steam and Epic versions of the games can play together. But, it's not working... Sadly I am doomed to never get to play Remnant 2 with my friends. But the first game had zero issues...

Have your friends used the option to connect their epic account?

Sigh the reason it worked on epic is because when it downloaded it installed all the visual C++ programs and other programs it takes to work :steamfacepalm: you only have yourself to blame for not being able to play it on steam because I gave you the fix but you chose to ignore it. Some people should take classes before playing on pc in the future because it's not like console where you can plug and play it takes some effort to get some games running

The first game actually had issues when they first integrated Steam-to-Epic cross-play, which caused a severe desynchronization issue even though my friend I was playing with and I were both using Steam. It took some firewall fiddling on my end and a hotfix on the developers' end to resolve it.

I realize that this doesn't contribute to the problem that this thread is trying to resolve. Excuse me.

Here is even a whackier idea, ITS ALREADY INSTALLED.

Unless it needs an older version or the 2023 version is locked behind a paywall

You installation might be corrupt the even wackiest idea is to uninstall Visual C++ and install a fresh copy

Downloaded, and repiared. deleted my entire C++ library before hand too. So it was a fresh install of it.

Then there's something wrong with your pc because it seems a small minority have the problem seeing as only 5 have posted here out of the 100's of thousands that bought the game
