Level scaling
seems to be broken completely. If you level up your character and gear bosses and some elite mobs will just flat out one shot you if they hit you.
Playing on veteran.Whats the point of rolling medic or challenger if only effective tactic you can do is roll dodge and dps boss down before he kills you?Cant heal up, cant tank, cant rez co op partners because you will either be constantly staggered and knocked down or dead if you get hit.
At least in previous game you could upgrade armor now you cant , vigor upgrades seem to be limited to plus 30 of base 100 health, like what do you expect me to do here game?

At higher levels, there's ways to generate bulwark or shield through rings. I assume you're meant to use these to be able to tank hits.

With the bruiser armor and 2 stacks of bulwark thanks to Summoner I'm able to tank at least 5-6 hits before I die from regular units. 4 from an elite depending on the elite. That said, it is true that this late in the game lifesteal is carrying me for heals more than medic, so I assume you might've just been unlucky to not find the lifesteal amulet, or unlock the lifesteal perk yet.
There are traits that give you defence like Barksin that reduces incoming damage, there are rings, amulets etc, you can use Challenger's skills to reduce armor encumbrance, you can reduce stamina penalties. There are a lot of ways to defend yourself and not get one shotted.

Im also playing on Veteran and let alone getting one shotted, Im basically tanking any damage inside a crowd and still kill them without dying.

Learn to efffectively dodge and create your strategy. You can avoid any damage if you learn to dodge. It's like Dark Souls, you have to learn it, basically getting good.

It's not dark souls. And don't compare this to it. Dark souls have fixed progression, remnant - don't.
The system of scaling truly idiotic. Let's take a boss weapon, lightning sword. ~40 damage, if you pump up to +10, you'll get only ~70 damage, but your power level will jump to +3-+5.
Will you be much more effective pushing this weapon to +10? No. And no. But enemies will be. And that's the problem with scaling.
More of that, you can't upgrade armor. They said it's because it upgrades with you. No, it's not. So after some time you will meet enemies which just destroy you.
At first I thought that changes from remnant 1 system will be good, but after playing, better they leave remnant 1 system alone, because what we have now - worse.

Not having issues with regular mobs, my issue is with bosses and elites .Lifesteal wise, im playing medic and handler with healing dog, so getting my life back if i survive hit isnt issue for me.Surviving hits is.Its not like bosses give you some breathing time, if you survive first few hits they just keep pummeling you with BS mechanics and hits until you are dead, like mother mind boss in 3 player co op last night, boss or mobs always attacking you, some bs platform collapse mechanic plus aoe on the ground with massive dmg and spin aoe from boss, playing with character lvl 7 or 8.
Like with 3 players someone is always down and if you go to rez them you are 20% HP by the time you get to them because all your CDs are on cooldown and while you try to rez them you will then get hit and die.Complete BS game design.

The game does not jsut scale based on weapons. Your archetype level scales the mobs aswel. If you do not upgrade your weapons you will simply be too weak and mobs will still be stronger.

The armor upgrades is what completely broke scaling in the first remnant. It is far better now. You simply need to find a good build for you.
Unlike other games, building glass cannon is only good if you are good at not taking damage. And a medic is not a god tier healer. He is there to support but not heal you 24/7 because you chose to eat damage left and right.

Nope, it's not. Game have minimal zone level, you can just upgrade your weapon to be the same level of the zone. People in first remnant just stayed maximum time without upgrades just to keep it simple. Now you need just to adjust to fixed world levels. But if you have more power level than zone, oh, that's where scaling come to life. Pretty fun when my friend pump up ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sword just to get bigger power level and problems for all in party, and game don't even gives you an opportunity to change in sword and lessen power level. No, you get it, that's end, you can't just swap your equipment like in first one.

I forgot if you can see it from the world stone charts, but if you go to the area you're curious about itll tell you in the corner of the minimap, thats the zone power level
world teir is always one lvl above you
for me now at power level 19 and 20... normal mode feels "harder" than veteran first playthrough. even tested nightmare on new run up until +8 weapons, which comes the closest in terms of enemy life and damage if i dont go full tank.

and it gets worse if you want to level up other classes. because class talents scale with their level. so if play with hunter 10 and handler 10, with 2-3 damage rings and damage amulet the game feels like the difficulties bases on first playthrough. where normal feels normal, nightmare like nightmare. (even when differences are not to much).

but now.. when i want to level other classes. so i switch to 2 other classes which are level 1-5.. and switch rings rings for more exp and exploration stuff.. but my power level stays on max.. normal mode feels like nightmare with bullet sponge enemies.. because i lose 50-70% because of low classes.

my plan was to play normal mode to get all the items, level up classes and stuff. normal because i thought it would be faster.. yes it is.. but not if you want to level new classes >.< and dont ask about the damage i get.. there are some red minibosses who give me 90% of life hits.. on normal mode. in first playthrough veteran mode and tested nightmare the only thing which was hitting that hard were some special boss skills with same armor tested.

that everything around you scales to your power level even if you are wearing lower classes/stuff.. yes i now asking for a dynamic scaling system which switch lifepool/damage of enemies, if you are switching gear is maybe too much. calculations are happening on world reroll i know.. and it would be abusable to generate with low gear and switch back to full.. but.. currently leveling new classes or trying new weapons which are not fully upgraded feels like hitting a bullet sponge wall. and bullet sponge is not a good thing. and the ammo problem is in some parts like playing resident evil on max difficulty.

and my biggest complained right now is: no loadouts... i have to switch for bosses my gear.. my classes and that resets my traits in some way too.. its not fun.. but doing bosses with low classes and "exploring" gear is not an option, not even on normal difficulty, because it takes way to long in comparison.

remnant 1 had the same system.. but remnant 1 .. i tried it now again with old char. when i switch in remnant 1 with lower gear on normal mode it feels okay. but okay i had more traits.. more trait level.. the damage of a char comes from the traits and gear and not from the classes. if the base damage wouldnt be tied to class level, if it would be a flat unlock.. maybe not that high then, i dont know a solution for that, because it feels off in the roots.
i made a post about this also its flat out broken the scaling and it ruins the game....... horrid design.
well got that boss that gave me trouble beaten after like 40 attempts and thaks to luck most of all, last second rez by dog, thanks boy.Lets see how it goes further.

Wow! This makes me sad. I finished the previous game and bought it for my brothers as well but I hated the level-scaling. I was literally planning to buy this but I decided to search for posts about the level-scaling first... I think I'll wait for a sale now. Thanks for the warning.

Please dont make my post reason not to buy it game is definitely worth a buy even if there are some issues i am sure thy will iron it out. with patches.
Perhaps the solution is simply for areas to have fixed power levels rather than developers being lazy and resorting to scaling enemy power which no player in the history of videogames has ever enjoyed.
