Nah you don't, it's just the usual "git gud" comment. Maybe it's more fun on lower difficulties, but on Nightmare it just takes literally an insane amount of time to go through it and there is barely any loot to make up for it. Not only that - the generic elite that comes running has basically a small damage aura around its weapon.
It's just blight town but for some reason as the 1st zone in the game.
And even difficulty aside - it's just too easy to farm luminous crystals there, so it's both too challenging and ruining the game's challenge
Well you aren't suppose to go through nightmare on your first playthrough, so that could be a huge reason as to why you're having difficulties. I went through Iron Borough last night on veteran and it wasn't too bad. Also has a lot of secrets!
I don't have the problems with the mobs itself, just the damn amount of them. They drop ammo, but they also get in a cheap shot or two, especially because the rifles fire not straight but with a spread, so you can easily dodge into a bullet. Or there are 2-3 people firing and the elite running around.
It's constant chip damage
Also - this is why a difficulty setting is stupid in a souls game. "Oh, you're not supposed to pick that one" - well, then why is it there??? "To provide you with a challenge" - okay, so the others are not supposed to be a game at all and you just faceroll through everything?
Picked the tank class, got a shotgun. For an area where every enemy is sniping you for 3 kilometers away.
Blight town was hated because of its frame rate not because of its design
It was hated because of its design, which is why people eye-rollingly call any annoying DoT-area "Blighttown" in souls games. Because nobody wants to trudge through a drab, boring sewer-level while getting spammed by meaningless mobs and take chip damage that can either be not avoided at all or eats up resources.
love me killing enemies
The game literally says "do not pick this mode unless you have a geared character" what more do you want??? Veteran is the "for a challenge" one you are describing. Nightmare is specifically made to be rerolled into with high level characters, it straight up says that.
Are you stupid or just unable to read?
